Sad to see the XF go; it's still one of the best cars in its class. I also believe that it's the beginning of the end for Jaguar. They have this bonkers policy of letting their cars grow old, then either replace them too late or not at all. Their current transition into a super luxurious EV brand will end in failure, because they have allowed themselves to become a dead brand.

While it might not have a V6 or V8, drop it into dynamic mode and put the auto box in sport and it will put a smile on your face. Sounds good in the cabin in those modes as well. Comfy, and quick enough for the majority of today's roads with the amount of traffic on them. it also looks fabulous inside and out. I love it. Shame there'll be no more, apart from EVs. Real shame.

Love the XF XJ & F type I own one of each ! ................Shame Jaguar have lost the plot with this EV Tomfoolery ! They used to build cars for customers needs and wishes. They have now decided they know better what the customer needs than the customer and market, which is a massive blunder which will sadly see the end of Jaguar.
@TJW042 ай бұрын
Building to customers needs and wishes? Look at how that went for them - they sold more or less no cars. Nobody bought Jaguars because they didn’t offer anything that BMW or Mercedes don’t already have, and as a result they lost all brand equity by choosing to chase volume - try to please everyone and you’ll please no one. Products like the F-Type and XJ are what Jaguar does best. Coming from a life long Jaguar fan, owning both aforementioned products, I am glad to see they are choosing to make cars that are more exclusive and on a par with Range Rover, they need that desirability back that they had in the 90s and I hope they manage to pull it off. It’s easy to say EV = failure because that’s what car news outlets are forcing down your throats but I think it suits Jaguar perfectly. Instant power and silent when doing long journeys, and no doubt they will manage to make them handle brilliantly.
@kevinledgister52522 ай бұрын
If it’s an EV, long journeys will not be a luxury unless you have the luxury of time. The problem with the XF was that it didn’t seem to carve out a unique enough niche to continue to attract customers. BMW has handling, Mercedes has luxury, Audi has go anywhere Bauhaus styling - Jaguar?? Well, it’s nice inside but nothing stands out. And you need that to compete with the Big 3 Germans. Being non-German is not enough. Maserati Ghibli’s have a raucous exhaust that exudes personality, even if its driving dynamics weren’t that great. Another $1,000 in fine leathers that have a powerful, alluring smell, and sharpening the exhaust and power delivery could have done wonders. But alas, they are focused on delivering their next car based on hubris. For the sake of the brand I hope it survives but I have a feeling that the new models will be almost as glued to the showroom floor after an initial flurry.

I so very nearly bought one, always loved the way it looked, so wanted to get out of my 5 series into a Jag, but I just couldn’t get an engine combo that worked. The 4 cylinder petrols just weren’t quite good enough and the fab 3.0 v6 d wasn’t available with 4 wheel drive as an estate, so the rear wheels just spun all the time on the test route. Loads of back seat space in the latest one, very good looking, big boot, great ride and handling. Such a shame they won’t be making these anymore 😢

It's truly heartbreaking to see such a storied brand with such wonderful cars go the EV route. They are one of the few car brands with legitimate racing, technological, and esthetic pedigree.
