Yet another beautiful Washington state park. What a great camp site. The land across the water from that park is Hartstene Island, which has a bridge. There is a nice state park on the north end of the island - Jarrell Cove State park. The cove is very peaceful, but the views are not as spectacular as those at Joemma Beach. I have been there for day use when visiting the island - my brother's in-laws have a waterfront cabin on Hartstene Island. The route you took to the Lakebay area can be used to get to Twanoh state park on the south shore of Hood Canal. That park is one of my favorite state parks. Back in the 50s we had a cabin on the north shore of the canal and my dad took us across the canal several times in our boat to visit Twanoh. I also used to stop there on my way to Olympic National Park. Lots of water access there and great sunsets behind the southern Olympic mountains. I look forward to your cheffing it up video from this location.

David, seeing the dock at that park reminded me of one of my favorite ways to visit the Puget Sound state parks - by boat. Once you resolve the RV issue you might want to consider buying a different type of "RV" - a boat. If I was in your situation I would seriously consider a Ranger 25 or similar small cruiser. Most of the Washington State parks on Puget Sound have docks and/or mooring buoys and quite a few of the parks are only accessible by boat. A boat would get you on the water "literally" and provides a way of seeing the Puget Sound area that is really great. The only down side is that boating is NOT cheap.
@RVJedeye2 жыл бұрын
I definitely have to hit the sound in a boat one of these days 😊
@todddunn9452 жыл бұрын
@@RVJedeye start with "The Peoples Yacht" - Washington State Ferry. I suggest heading across the sound as a walk on just before sunset with a return after dark. The lights of the city are beautiful from the water. Take some fish and chips r chowder from Ivar's seafood bar (next door to the ferry terminal).

Site 11! What an amazing camping site. BTW, (if you don't my saying) I think you are making a good point to down size from the RV to something that allows more flexibility. Not always easy but it's freedom. Good luck!
