I hope you don't stop making these videos anytime soon. Surprisingly, you're one of the very few people on the internet making lessons like these. It's very difficult to find similar videos. Very much appreciated Fedor! :)

Hi Fedor - I recently found your channel and think it's great. This was the first of these 'slow' ones I've seen and it's brilliant - such a great idea. Thank you for making these. You asked for topics - here's some suggestions (maybe you've already done) : travel/holidays, technology/phones/social media.

You should talk about your first experience(s) coming to America. What you did to prepare, the contrast in culture and society between Russia and America, the biggest/memorable mistake(s) you made (if any mistake was made) when coming to America and how that has helped you or harmed you in the long run. I know you spoke breifly about coming to America with another female Russian student in a previous video. I think it would be cool to hear more about your expereinces and what you've observed/expereinced while being in America.

How about Russian jokes or humour as they are spoken in Russian, I find Russian humour most amusing but have only ever heard the translations.

Все понял. Мне очень полезно. Спасибо вам. Я надеялся, что вы можете обсудить на медленном русском немного о спорте. (Как например, о хоккее или о хоккеисте, и так далее).

For some reason I don't know the difference between "тогда" and "потом". They both translate to "then". What's the difference?

Болшье спасибо, Федор! I was wondering if I could have your advice on something? Я люблю Русский Язык, and I got Rosetta Stone to try to learn, but I think I am going at too slow a pace, because I try to not move forward, until I can say the words exactly like the recorded voices on the program. Could I go faster and not worry about that, because different speakers in the program enunciate the same words differently? I would like to (hopefully) become fluent as soon as I can, and seeing as you are an excellent teacher and speaker, maybe you could tell me what you think the best thing would be for me to do. If it helps, I began learning Русский Язык under a month ago, and I have about seven hours each day (in summer) to study Russian, so would my time be more beneficially spent by moving forward and not obsessing over exact duplication of pronunciation? I am hoping to finish Rosetta Stone by the end of summer. Спасибо, пока пока!

Comprehension > enunciation. Think of it like this. You are going to have an accent no matter what. It is good to try to pronounce the words correctly, but the more words you know the more words you have to work with. A native speaker can't really help you with your accent until you can have a conversation with that person. Think of a small child. You can understand what he is saying even if he uses me instead of I and can't pronounce his r's. Only when the child understands you can you help him with his grammar and enunciation. That's my advice. Expand your vocabulary and the rest will follow. Хорошего дня и удачи. Пока-пока!

+Richy Rich, Спасибо! That's a really good way of putting it; I hadn't really thought of it like that. So you think that in time with a lot of learning and practice I could maybe lose my accent? Probably with help from native speakers, of course.

Здравстуйте друзя! I was wondering, could AnyOne tell me the difference between the words проплыла (В прошлый вторник я проплыла один километр.) and плавала (Я плавала.)? What distinguishes one from the other, because they both talk about swimming in the past tense? I would really appreciate any help. Пока пока!
@13attr7 жыл бұрын
'проплыла' is the past tense form of the perfective verb 'проплыть', describing a completed or interrupted action 'плавала' is the past tense form of the imperfective verb 'плавать', describing an ongoing, regular action

+13attr, Привет друга, Спасибо. That is really helpful. So it is kind of like saying "I did do this" versus "I was doing this." До свидания!

There's no perfect tenses in Russian language, but we use imperfective and perfective aspects of verbs. You can learn more here: www.russianforeveryone.com/Rufe/Lessons/Course1/Grammar/GramUnit13/GramUnit13_1.htm

+13attr, Wow, that was really helpful; and the link made it make a lot more sense. I should try to learn Russian more without trying to quantify it in terms of English, because like this, some concepts just work differently. Спасибо!

///I should try to learn Russian more without trying to quantify it in terms of English, because like this, some concepts just work differently./// If you know German it will be easier to understand grammatical cases, genders, endings of adjectives and morphological derivation in Russian.
