I have been doing 3 of your weight-training videos every week for the last 4 months, and this week started your Kettlebell workouts! I'm 65 and have found your videos superior in content and physical accessibility to others I've tried. I especially appreciate the prompts on proper form (tucking the tailbone under, or putting your weight in your heel). They're really helpful to someone who has never been properly trained before. Please continue to bring us these great tutorials! I want to someday tell you I'm 80 yrs old and still weight-training along with you.

Lauren my first time trying this one and it was amazing!! This is going to be a bit long but I need to share this with you. I am 59 years old and I’ve been doing your exercises for two years adding strength training 2 to 3 times a week. I am participating in a large Canadian study with 300,000 participants and it will be for 50 years. I went for an assessment last week and they identify your strength by your grip strength. My grip strength was 65 and the highest the number goes in my age category for excellence is 61!!! He showed me that I am very good for grip strength for somebody between the ages of 30 to 39!! And I really have to thank you for all of this.❤❤❤

I finally bought myself a kettlebell and felt I did this workout more efficiently than with one dumbbell, it was tough but I loved it. I really appreciate all your talk throughout the video giving constant reminders on form, it really helps especially when the going gets tough and the form wobbles. This will definitely become a favourite of mine.

This video helped me finally find my sweet spot with fitness! I've been doing it for a month and have worked my way up to 2 sets of 10 with a 2kg dumbell. I started with no weights at all, just doing the exercises to learn the motions, and back then it was still a challenge. Today some exercises felt too easy, so I ordered a 4kg kettlebell! Everything in life is getting easier. Standing up is a breeze. I don't feel like I've run a marathon after I've put away groceries, and my arms don't get tired carrying trash to the dumpster. I actually look forward to my daily workout and don't feel like I can start my day without it. At age 46, I finally have a fitness routine! Thank you for helping me figure out what works for me! I'm feeling powerful and empowered! 💪

A year ago I could hardly do this workout……Today, I completed the entire class! Your tips (especially for the single triceps ) saved me! Went to the doctor two weeks ago. I’ve lost the 10 lbs I had put on due to autoimmune and knee injury 2yrs ago. I’ve bypassed knee surgery because my muscles have gotten strong! “Did I catch you?”had me going 😂….tiny adjustments make such a difference! Thank you Lauren! Great job. Thank you for the workout. I liked this one quite a bit and was able to keep up with you. I have kettlebells, but I’m never sure exactly what to do with them. So this was a nice change. Would be interested in more kettlebell workouts, maybe with a few less lunges. I have cranky knees, so doing lunges side to side can be a problem (I don’t seem to have any problems with the squats).

I finally got my 8 pound kettlbell. And I was happy to improve my muscle mass. When lifting the weight up it was a little difficult and the free hand helped the loaded one a little. But I completed all the exercises to the end and I really liked this workout! And I will repeat this again and again. I'm 62 and was encouraged to improve my fitness via kettle-bell training by a work colleague, and yours is the first video for seniors I came across. I have a 6kg kettle-bell for starters. I'm getting to just over the half way point in your video but have to stop and rest at that point. It's a good cardio workout ! I think I'll try it without the kettle bell to practice the movements then reintroduce it. Thank you.

At 76 I finally found the exercise that I like,I will start with lighter weight.I live in an active seniors community and we have different exercises Monday to Saturday,it start at 11 a.m.but if I have errands that day I do my exercises very early,start with 30 to 45 minutes walking outdoors just before sunrise then to our fitness room,feel good about myself after.Many thanks.

Thanks Lauren. Great workout. I’m really liking the kettlebell workouts. Did this one with an 8lb kettlebell and replaced the lunges with step backs. Since I like a little longer workout I added some core/arm exercises to the end before I did the cool down (leg lifts, bicycles, russians, boat holds, and some yoga push ups).

I love using kettlebells because it's like getting 2 for the price of 1, in that you get strength and cardio at the same time! This workout was terrific!! All the moves were great, with my favorite being the stationary double arm row to single side one arm row side lunge!! And, the curtsy moves were pretty awesome also!! 😊. I had knee replacement ant unable to do knee exercises perhaps address an alternative to not kneeling on my knees. Love the workouts it has helped me become more flexible stringer and over all healthier thank you !,

I did this workout yesterday and I used 20, , 15 and 10 LB kettlebells…the ten was for the individual tricep work! This was a good one!!!

You’re welcome Annie! They aren’t written in stone, so feel free to change up the order or make substitutions. However, I do try to alternate them so you aren’t doing strength building routine 3 days in a row…

Girl I am sweating !!!! Good workout !!!! This is actually the first time I have done a Kettleball workout. Good thing I picked those Kettleballs up at a yardsale and thrift store 10 years ago. LOL

Great workout. With no breaks and a heart rate within aerobic range, is this more fat burning than muscle development/maintenance? Thanks

Thanks Richard! That’s all depends on the weight of your kettlebell or dumbbell. It can certainly be both fat burning and strength building. If your weight is lighter, then more aerobic, if heavier, then more more strength. Hope that helps!

@@SeniorShapeFitness thanks What rep range would be towards either aerobic or strength? If the senior utilizes the entire time slot to do 5-8 reps, would that be a good range for muscle building?

@@richardalbano6262 yes, low reps such as 5-8 with a heavier weight is what you would want for gaining strength and muscles. Low weight and high reps 12-15+ is great for toning and endurance. Both are important! Just make sure if you are doing low reps that the dumbbell is heavy enough in order to gain muscle. It should feel difficult by that final rep. Hope that helps!

Glad you got a good workout Carol :) My shoes are by ON running. I love them too. I have high arches are they are super supportive and cushy!
