I am an obese woman (280lbs) in her 40’s and have found that I have become so out of shape that even beginner workouts tend to be too much for me. My knees crack, my back clenches, and it is extremely difficult for me to get up and down off the floor. I end up getting discouraged and quit. I’ve recently been hearing a lot about rebounding/trampoline workouts. They seem to be low impact and look like a lot of fun with great results. I have a trampoline on the way, and your Level One videos are going to be my beginner workout plan. I appreciate the simplicity of the movements and the clarity of your instruction. For the first time in a long time, I’m actually excited about working out!

@@EarthOwl Thanks, I'll have to check out those other videos. You know, when I was shopping for a rebounder, I was starting to think this was a "female only" activity based on what I was seeing online. I did come across a few guys doing workouts on them, but they were definitely the exception to the rule. Not sure why; the workouts on a rebounder really kick your cardio into high gear in no time at all! Well, I've got a few other hobbies that are the same way, so what can I say??? Male or female, we all want to be healthy, right? Getting there, and staying there, is the tough part! Incidentally, I got into this because I read that it's good for neuroplasticity, which is helpful for learning guitar, another of my recent endeavors. I already knew meditation, which I do, helped with that. So, now I've got rebounding working for me as well!

What I love about my new BCAN 40" trampoline is that the instructions kzbin.infoUgkxJ9gj6zjuYQvwe_l9UB_7kOOVd_fIIC5Q and video were easy to follow and setup. A little maneuvering necessary, but all of the steps needed were included. The trampoline is sturdy and I love the ability it has to fold down to store away. The handle bar is perfect for stability and maintaining alignment. I just received this morning and set up within the hour. It was not difficult, but you need to watch the video and read through instructions prior to putting together. I'm already using and love that you can get cardio workout in 10 minutes, and it's fun to do. I plan to use everyday and will test out it's durabiity to withstand my 110 lbs. If special exercises could be posted for use with the BCAN, that woud be an added bonus! So far, I'm loving my new BCAN trampoline and looking forward to using it for many years.

Very cool. I am a 78 year old woman; martial artist. I used to dance years ago and just thought I’d like to get back into it. I am very keen on learning the BTS group choreography to their songs and thought this would be a great way to practice some of the moves. Their choreography tends to be more abrupt in movement than martial arts and I think the mini trampoline will help me with the progression of the moves. Yours is the first vid I looked at and I really like your presentation and you are easy to hear. Thanks for your efforts!

Thanks for the video. I can do the exercises fine but my calves get tired out. Is there something wrong my form or is it a matter of building up the calf muscles? Thanks
@EarthOwl3 жыл бұрын
Very normal for your calves to feel tired, it’s an intense calf work out! I think that will dissipate as your calves grow stronger.

Just found your videos. They are fantastic! I am trying to get back into shape after a multi-year break. I used to teach tennis and spent hours a day on the court with no problem. Tried to play again recently and wow! In a bad way wow! I've been active in general, and walking 5 miles per day, but this video really showed how much further I need to go with my cardio. Five minutes is a good length of time on the rebounder as I build up my endurance. Get a good sweat going, legs feel "worked out" but not wobbly--really fun! Thanks.

Was using a cheapo mini trampoline that had no bounce and decided to get a Bellicon. Guess which one I like better? The $25 one! For me, the Bellicon has too much "stretch," and kills my calves and Achilles tendons right away. Wish I had known!

just got a rebounder to get back to exercising and I love the idea of your beginner series! I did this quick one today and it seems like the surface is much less taut/depresses more when I move. could this be related to weight? thank you!
@EarthOwl3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps, but it could also be due to the tension setting on your trampoline. Mine is set fairly tight allowing me to move a little faster. My Jumpsport trampoline has 7 tension settings. If you have a Jumpsport, I'd be happy to walk you through how to adjust it.

@@EarthOwl I DO have a Jumpsport. Is it better to have the tension tighter? Will it be kinder to my knees and lower back if it's more taut? Thank you.
@EarthOwl3 жыл бұрын
@@beachgirl468 If you want a gentle bounce, I’d go with a less taut setting. A firm tension is helpful for speed, but not quite as gentle.

Hi, Ive been doing this as a way to get acclimatised to my rebounder, was fine for the first 2 weeks but this week I have lower back pain, well I feel the muscles are tight around my hips and back but I am able to keep my core tighter more easily this week, maybe things are just getting used to it, I have an old spring rebounder but thinking a bungee one maybe a softer bounce ...any tips on the lower back soreness?
@EarthOwl2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! What you are describing is REALLY common. My first question is usually...did you watch my form tutorial the 6 do's and don'ts of trampoline rebounding? Low back ache is usually from improper form. Here is the link to that video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXXEY4yCrsipZs0
@lubymay36182 жыл бұрын
@@EarthOwl Hello, thanks so much for replying! Yes I did watch that but will do so again...I also get aches in shoulder and neck where I hold a LOT of physical tension from my work as a gardener and from previous whiplash injuries...its not bad enough to stop me from bouncing , it sort of feels like im so tight in these areas that the bouncing is sort of breaking up the stiffness and I have to go through some discomfort to start with....does that sound silly? Once Im comfortable with the 5 mins i was going to progress to you 10 moves in 10 mins....?
@EarthOwl2 жыл бұрын
@@lubymay3618 Not silly at all! I have a couple questions/suggestions. What type of rebounder are you using? Have you tried any of my slightly more gentle workouts such as my rebounder walk series or “feet stay on the mat”?
@lubymay36182 жыл бұрын
@@EarthOwl I am using an old spring rebounder called Super Tramp PT bouncer, nothing fancy at all. I was hoping to upgrade to a bungee rebounder as I think the one I have is a bit ":firm" but I cannot afford anything much more than £100. (I'm in UK). I thought I was reasonably fit as my gardening and cleaning work is very active but I really wanted to tone up a bit... I am very surprised how stiff I am after only 5 mins bouncing...oh dear! I think menopause and a lifetime of hard physical work is taking its toll on my body and joints/muscles etc! I will have a look at your suggestions, thanks so much for your input!

I’m 55, work full time as an RN & eat relatively healthy with intermittent fasting, so I’m not sedentary, but not as active as I know I need to be. Weight is my biggest issue. Need to lose a good 70 lbs. Just got my rebounder w/stability bar & did this 1st 5 min workout-modified. I have very flat feet & found my ankles & where I should have arches, are hurting. It’s not bad, but enough to notice. I’m determined not to give up, as I have invested in the FitBounce Pro XL and I KNOW I CAN do this. Any suggestions? Maybe wearing shoes? My ankles at least need some sort of support.

Hi there! What you are experiencing is common for many beginners. The main thing I recommend is stretching and a proper warm up. You can definitely try shoes and see if that helps. Check out this video for some helpful stretches. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6m8p42YfJJ7hdE
