Once per week I toss together: a pack of quinoa, a pack of chia seeds, chopped up meat of your choice, lots of veggie: carrots, spinach, celery, brussel sprouts, etc. lots of coconut oil, butter, seasoning in a huge pot. I turn the heat to very low and let it all simmer for as long as it takes to cook the veggies and dry out all the water generated by the veggies. When it cools I parcel out into small containers and this way I have a meal I can quickly heat and enjoy. I like it so much I sometimes have this for breakfast and dinner.

great video. Do you have to soak chia seeds I water before you eat them with the coconut oil & peppermint? I heard if you dont soak them, they expand in your stomach. Costco sells 2 lb bags organic chia seeds pretty cheap. Thank you!!
@SeeYourStar8 жыл бұрын
+Sherry G I wish more people would expand on this question,if you find answers please let me know…i found this "Chia seeds can absorb ten to twelve times more than their weight. This is possible because they are rich in soluble fiber, which is unique to other soluble fibers found in oats and flax seed. They are hydrophilic, meaning you will be able to stay hydrated longer. There are several things to take note of, though, before consuming chia seeds. For instance, only consume chia seeds that you have soaked in water. You need to remember this because when a chia seed is not able to soak up enough water, it will absorb the water inside your body. That is right, it will find water inside your body to fill itself. This will then lead to dehydration. Are you getting confused?"

@saraloggins83658 жыл бұрын
Chia seeds are great; however, there are also contraindications that often get overlooked. I can take a sprinkle every now and then, by that I mean every few weeks. If I use any more than that I have bleeding problems. It acts almost like aspirin, so if you are already on blood thinning meds or take aspirin then it probably is not a good idea to use a lot of chia.
@drjoshaxe8 жыл бұрын
+Sara Loggins In my article on the health benefits of chia seeds, I address the possible side effects: draxe.com/chia-seeds-benefits-side-effects/
@saraloggins83658 жыл бұрын
Due to their high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids, chia seeds can act as a blood thinner. Therefore, people who are taking prescription blood thinners (such as Warfarin), are scheduled for surgery, or are on an aspirin regimen should avoid eating chia seeds or at least talk to their doctor before adding chia to their diet. An overdose of blood thinners may lead to excessive bleeding, which in turn may have severe negative consequences for your health. Furthermore, people with low blood pressure should consult a qualified health care professional before adding chia seeds to their eating plan as chia seeds appear to be capable of lowering diastolic blood pressure (DBP) to alarming levels.
