Best Banjo For The Laguna 18 36 Lathe

Is replacing your Laguna 18-36 banjo with a Oneway banjo worth the $300 bucks, see the difference and judge for your self.

I bought the Oneway banjo. It actually is the standard banjo for the Oneway 1640. Fantastic piece of kit. Much better in every way than the Laguna banjo for my usage. I use the original Laguna banjo exclusively on the Laguna 20" extension (with the banjo riser block that came with the extension). I've added this to the lathe so I can turn up to 31" diameter pieces on the 1836.

I have a Oneway banjo and the Laguna 18/36 banjo. I prefer Robust toolrests and don't have a problem with either the Oneway or the Laguna banjo. The Oneway probably has a better mechanical design, but they both work (for me, at least).

The tolerance on the post of the Laguna is very small and some posts that say they are 1 inch will not fit or are too loose and very hard to make it stay.

Not sure as got rid of it early on, they all fit on my Oneway though. i have four different kind.
