Yes! I have this lens, 33mm for my z50, nobody really saw the difference between the full frame & apc-s thanks to the 1.4 aperture. I love the red car 🚗 picture!

Very detailed review. It answered all of my questions and shared the user experience. It provided all the important details without getting too technical. I intend to get the three Viltrox AF 1.4 lenses for my Nikon Z fc and this video got me a lot closer to deciding. Thank you!

thanks Chris, I'm considering to buy the 56mm lens, too - to use it on my Z50. I currently own their 23mm f1.4 and I love it. Paul, will you do further tests/reviews of the other Viltrox APS-C lenses?
@TheQuietBeast2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! That was a perfect review for me. Having a Z50 and likes car photos and wonder about how it works in low light with no IBIS. Your review answered all my questions :) and BTW, I think I liked the car photo best :)
@alanchan5693 жыл бұрын
Great review man! For the price point of this lens, the Viltrox 33mm f1.4 is truly value for money. I'm blown away by the fact that both the lens and hood are constructed from metal. Nikon Singapore was kind enough to loan me their 35mm f1.8 lens for the Z mount and even their lens (that costs a grand too!) uses a plastic hood. Really great stuff from Viltrox, may actually just get one of these for my Z50

Hi, im new to digital photo, I have a nikon z fc and wanted to buy the nikon z 50mm 1.8 but now I know about the crop sensors, I saw the nikon 35mm 1.8 but the price is very expensive in my country, should I buy a viltrox 33 or 35mm? Or going for the nikon z 50mm? I used my film camera mostly for cosplay portraits with a 50mm rikenon also have an adapter for pentax k to nikon z
@alanchan5692 жыл бұрын
@@pinceno if you're using a Zfc, I would definitely recommend you getting the viltrox 33mm f1.4 lens. The Nikon z 50mm is great but if price is a concern for you then you should definitely get the viltrox option. Cheers mate

@@alanchan569 thanks, actually I was worried because of the crop sensor, they told me that if a want a 50mm I should buy the 28-35 nikon, just ordered this viltrox, any lens advice for cosplay photo shoot? Also should I order the nikon 50?

@@pinceno Nikon 35 MM lens will be nearly 53mm on Z50, and f1.8 will become f2.5 something when using that lens on Z50 & Zfc

Thanks Paul for a very interesting review. I have seen it advertised here in the UK but yours is the first review I’ve seen. I have just purchased a Nikon Z5 so I’m looking for an alternative lens. I’ve got to say I’m very impressed. I loved the portrait with the lad with the tattoo’s plus the musicians. Thanks so much for putting this lens through it’s paces. All the best Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍📷📸

Do note that this is a lens for APS-C (Nikon Z50 and Z fc), but not for the full frame Nikon Z5. Viltrox has another two full frame prime lens, the 24 mm f/1.8 and 35 mm f/1.8 These would be suitable for the Nikon Z5.

Hello Paul,. Thanks for a great suggestion. I bought one for my Zfc. One drawback that I found was that there wasI no Vibration reduction available when this lens was attached. Did you also find this to be true? Gina
@photogenius2 жыл бұрын
Hi Gina, I haven't found the lack of stabilisation to be a problem, with such a wide aperture, the shutter speed should mostly be fast enough for camera shake to not be an issue. I am sure you will get some great photos and fall in love with the lens. Thanks for watching.

@@photogenius Thanks Paul. I bought both my Zfc and my Viltrox 33mm after watching your reviews. I am an artist and wanted a camera with which I could take my own reference pics. I'm afraid you will not get a successful moon photo with an 18-55mm lens, you will need a much longer focal length, I would recommend 250-300mm ideally.
