Natasha. I just tried these! Thanks they're awesome! Things I've learned Along the baking: 1. Butter and egg must be room temp. 2. Baking soda as leavening gives more dense and chewy cookies where as Baking powder gives cakey and puffy cookies 3. Cookies come out the oven are not done yet. They set after 10 minutes Thank you!

I halved this recipe and it came out pretty good. I did three different types of Ghirardelli chocolate chips: milk chocolate, semi-sweet and bittersweet 60%. Since I used salted butter, I omitted the salt. Definitely making this again.

This recipe was full of surprises, pleasant ones. I wasn’t able to use my blender to mix the dough, it’s old like me, so I had to put my back into it. However, a good wooden spoon is like a magic wand. The recipe makes so many cookies and they tasted amazing! I made 20 cookies that day and 20 more the next day. They were so good my son substituted them for dinner, thank goodness he’s a grown man! The next day, after refrigeration, I let the dough come to room temperature (mostly), and it was still workable and it produced the same cookies as the day before! Amazing! They were delicious, big and soft - even three days later. This is the BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe I’ve used in years. Thanks for sharing.

Zoya Fatima I’m not sure what could have gone wrong. One thing that I do is once the dough has been mixed, I place the bowl in the fridge for about 5 minutes as it makes it easier to scoop it out with the ice cream scooper. I suggest you try the recipe again and see.

And if you don’t have a stand mixer or a electric mixer don’t worry I used a whisk and it turned out just as good! You just need to mash the butter a bit first making sure to get out all the lumps ❤️

I made this recipe and I have A LOT to say. My cookie dough came out perfectly and it was really easy to make in my stand mixer and whisk attachment. I had problems when it came to baking, however. My ice-cream scooper is average-size which seems fine for ice cream but my cookies ended up being a lot bigger than I preferred which also means they expanded too much in the pan and began touching each other to form square cookies. Next time, I should hand roll my cookies. Also, when I put my cookies in the oven, my cookies didn’t cook evenly. The cookies closer to the door were more raw than the ones in the back (probably from me opening the oven door to place the tray in the oven). Finally, my oven didn’t seem to melt the chocolate chips, so the extra chocolate chips I put on top of the cookies kept their shape and I would have preferred the rustic appearance of a cookie without them. I would skip putting extra chocolate chips on top of the cookies before baking. Overall, this recipe was awesome and I see myself making it a dozen more times in the future.

Baking chocolate chips are designed to hold their shape. SO even when baked, they dont melt.You can just cut up chocolates chunks instead if you want them to melt

I tried this recipe. And .... So good! ❤️. They taste so soft and gooey. But after an hour being outside they still are super soft. But not so gooey. Like every other cookie they don’t stay warm and fresh, eventually. They are kind of scone like. But sooo soft. I’m in love with this recipe. I’ll definitely be making them again.

I love this recipe, I have done it already twice! Thanks a lot! But, I do have a problem, I recently got on a new diet, meaning I have a limited number of calories to consume on a day. But I love this cookies so much I want to eat the most while stating within my diet. On your website it is said that they have 248 calories, but I don't think this is referring to just a single cookie, since that would be too much. Yes, that is correct. This is for one cookie, this recipe makes about roughly 26 cookies. I use an ice cream scoop to get even balls of dough (3 Tbsp each). Sorry I do not know how much each cookie weighs in grams.

Thank you so much for this recipe! Grains and Grit actually recommended your recipe as a base for fresh milled wheat berries! I ended up using 3 1/2 cups spelt (fresh milled needs a little more) and used sugar cane for the regular sugar and even with the conversion to fresh milled flour they were a HIT! I gave up on cookies a LONG TIME AGO because they always came out flat. But even with my butter too soft (due to a warm kitchen) they still rivaled hubby's cookies! Thank you so much! You have started to become our new "go-to" whenever we need a recipe even for meals! Like the philly cheesesteak sandwiches or the smashed potatoes.... keep up the great work!

These were amazing. The consistency of the dough is absolute perfection and I love that they are not ultra sweet but just right. I do have a convection oven so I baked at 325 for 13 minutes. No more flat cookies for me - this will be my go to recipe!

Hey, just wanted to ask you if it is necessary to use tightly packed light brown sugar? Because the one I have isn't as light in color and isn't tightly packed either so will that make a difference? And also about the update in your description box, should I just add 1 tsp baking soda and no salt or 2 tsp of baking soda and no salt, according to the updated tip you gave?

I’ve tried a lot to recipes and personally this one is my favorite no one can beat this recipe :edit it does not take a long time it takes about 40 to 50 mins for me

I tried these for me and my family right now everyone thought that they would be bad because of my last cookies I made 😅 but when they came out of the oven they were delicious I loved them and my family. Also we are going to the beach tomorrow for my siblings game this will be a great treat in the car!
