it's so nice to hear teochew, it was the first language I learned as a child and I lost a lot of that knowledge but listening to you talk really brings back a lot of core knowledge. Thank you for uploading this video, by the way! My grandma just made this for dinner. This is such a delicious dish.

Can we talk about the professional camera work and quality of this video? Wow, it looks like a pro shot and edited this! And of course, love the fact that it's in Teochew for such a traditional TC recipe. This is as authentic as it gets, looks exactly like my mom's!

Late to the party, but I found this video wanting to learn how to make gu chai gue like my grandma use to :) I'm fully teochew and I appreciate you making teochew cooking videos. Every dish you've made is what I've grown up on and watching you make gu chai gue brings back a lot of nostalgia. I saw you don't make any more videos but it'd be awesome if you continued!

Good job! I really liked the way this video was shot, and the instructions in Teochew. My mom made these! I only understand a small amount of Teochew, but this definitely brought me back to my childhood! Thanks for making these videos.

Hi, I have tried making the chives dumplings. Your recipe is very good. The chives are nice and the dumpling skin is soft and chewy. My husband likes the chives dumplings very much. Just one thing, the flour in Singapore may be a little different from your country, hence I used 1½ cup of hot water instead of your 1cup. Thank u. 😍

I made this today. Unsure whether I let the dough cool down as it cracks when I roll it flat. At the end I just flatten by hand. The wrapper is way thicker than yours when cooked. Love your recipe and easy to follow

Sorry to hear that your dough didn't turn out well. Maybe the warer wasn't hot enough or the dough sat out too long?

Hi I’m confused! In the video it said you used 1 cup of glutinous flour but for the ingredients listed in the description it said half and instead 1 cup of rice flour. Can you clarify? Thank you 🙏🙂

So sorry! Thanks for pointing that out, the captions are wrong. The description is correct! 1 cup rice flour, 1/2 cup glutinous rice flour and 1/2 cup tapioca flour

Hi Susan, if I make it with only chives should I be adding salt, pepper and chicken powder? Mine didn't taste right, I would add more salt or something and no pepper. Joi sia!
