Not only in Pakistan, we here in Brazil love the Dirilis Ertugrul series, so much so that Facebook groups about the series have over 50,000 followers, which is impressive for a non-Muslim country that knows very little about Ottoman history. Anyway, I love the series too and my interest in the Turkish language started there.

Magnificent Century! Because I was on a history binge again and I came accross the Ottoman Empire. I was immediately fascinated because I didn't realise that an ancient empire survived until the first world War! Then I went down the "history rabbit hole". I'm fact checking the producers with significant events. They really did their homework!

@@the2hkiller30 Well, I am a polyglot and I must say that Turkish is definitely challenging. I've been learning Russian and Arabic for many years but I have to admit that Turkish is much more difficult than Modern Standard Arabic and this.is due to the construction of sentences and the agglutination of words. Moreover, when it comes to understand basic sentence structures on KZbin channels, everything is easy to recall, but when it comes to understand short stories, I always find it difficult to grasp the position of directs and indirect objects in the sentence. To put the matter in a nutshell, Turkish needs an awful lot of speaking and listening practice in order to be able to speak it fluently.

@@deepblue188 That's interesting. I've also just started learning the lantuage, and indeed it looks as if it's one of the most complex and complicated languages to learn. At least for me. I am romanian, and other than english and Romanian I speak German and a bit of Spanish (which would be much much easier to learn if I wanted to). I wanted a new challenge. Learned a bit from different other languages in the past, but they seemed much more approachable then Turkish. Thanks for your feedback on this.

I love the historical series like Magnificent Century, Ertugrul, Osman, Aplarlslan, Barbaroslar, Destan and some modern series like Aski -i Memnun, Kalp Yarasi, Maria ile Mustafa (in Cappadocia!), Fatmagulun Sucu Ne. The modern ones are better for learning Turkish as the language and slang is current.

I recommend people who learning English Yalan Dünya, Aramızda Kalsın. Comedy series. Turkish comedies are very nice. You also can watch Avrupa Yakası. Galip Derviş is detective comedy series. Turkish series is not only summer love series. Please! Crime series, like Alef and Şahsiyet! I think these are very cool series. Another series is Masumlar Apartmanı. It is favourite of Latins.

I started studying Turkish in January of 2022 because I watched “Anne” with Cansu Dere. It was broadcast in Spanish in the US but I wanted to watch it in the original format. I then ran out to look for all of Cansu’s dizis and watched “Sila”, “Ezel”, and most recently “Sadakatsiz”. Been almost a year since I’ve been learning Turkish and I’ve fallen in love with so many other dizis, the country, and the culture.

In the historical series, they speak a little bit old turkish. So i dont recommend diriliş, kuruluş etc. for learning english. The storyline is pretty good though. Adını Feriha koydum, aşk-ı memnu are great.

Besides Muhteşem Yüzyıl, there is Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kosem, with magnificant Beren Saat. I watched Atiye, and I certainly recommend the series. Muhafiz is on my list ;) I also recommend "Ezel" Turkish version of "Monte Cristo"!

On netflix Muhafiz the second one is listed as The Protector in English speaking countries. It was very good, I hope they are doing more. Beni Boyle Sev (Love me as I am) is hilarious, watched it twice. Fatmagul was good, Love Engin Akyurek! I only have 2 that I have to find.

I love Kiralik Ask, it's great. I am not much of a historic shows fan but I will definitely try Muhafiz, it looks so good. I am also looking forward to see Atiye, that one looks awesome, but I didn't have time yet. But I am A1, so I have to watch with english subtitles still... Hercai does look interesting, but it has too many episodes for me to commit to it. I am watching Marasli right now, that one really got my attention.

You have forgotten "ADINI FERIHA KOYDUM" it's a blockbuster🤩 and such common phrases and sentences are used in it even I learned bit of turkish language and also I am able understand the sentences of daily use!!!😊😇

Eu assisti Ertugrul, e agora de novo pelo canal oficial 7 , e também assisti toda a temporada de 1 a 4 de Kurulus Osman, e aguardando ansiosa a 5a temporada, e foi por isso que me interessei pela cultura e o idioma. Assisti Fedakar também. E Benimle kal (sei que é uma serie estranheira) mas o vocabulário é enriquecedor. Assisti também Esaret a primeira temporada pelo canal oficial 7, e agora Yeter com Cenk Torun (pelo Youtub), e vou seguir sua dica com Ask Memnu. E vou procurar outras series pelo Netflix. ❤❤❤❤ Amo drama com comedia romântica ❤️ e adoro series de época, assim como as novelas brasileiras, gosto mais quando ae trata de história de epoca que trazem a cultura, e as doficuldades, e tudo mais. ❤❤❤🇧🇷 Estou buscando aprende o idioma Turco porque tenho certeza de visitar o pais um dia.
