This video is a session of a variation of Bhastrika Pranayama breathing, which means the ‘bellows breath’. Here we inhale and exhale forcefully, strengthening and opening up the breathing system, oxygenating the body and releasing a lot of energy.
In this video, Michael Bijker from www.yogalap.com gives a detailed explanation followed by a breathing session with Bhastrika Pranayama that you can join.
This is a strong yogic breathing practice and can cure many ailments, but please read the precautions carefully.

We can do this pranayama by slowly, medium and fast way. Those suffering from lungs and heart problems and high blood pressure can perform slowly and gently. After some time increase the number of breaths. Do not strain, don´t go over your limits, if you feel any pains STOP and relax... Find guidance from a proper pranayama teacher.

@Myyo Bhastrika 1-0-1-0 (50 strokes) length 2.30min @JDnw Anulom Vilom 5-0-5-0 (30 strokes) length 5min correct rate /ratio or timed breathing is very important for pranayam constant rate of breathing helps to improve all body metabolism for this the above videos are very good

Dear Michael, I’m deeply grateful for your calm and accurate explanations about all breathing techniques. ♥️ I’ve a question: I’m practicing Dinah Rodrigues hormone yoga. Bhastrika is shown with a strong noisy breath out, like Kapalbhati. Should I do it this way or isn’t it more effective your way? Ujjahi pranayama is also wrongly shown in the hormone yoga therapy video. But I’ve understood it to do this breathing the right way because of your video! 🙏🏼

Great...अदभुत।.. Yogi jee ..I am suffering from neck pain and headache..which pranayam and yoga Asana will be helpful for me...You have very good body structure..You got it through yoga only or you go to the gym as well...I saw few of your another videos and notice that

Namaste brother, this is because of good diet, Yoga, surfing and ChiGong. All wonderful practices. Try doing the following video for your neck and shoulder issue, do it for 2 weeks . kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHacnax8hNRrqLc Combined with a session of Kaki mudra pranayama kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooe2mnR3i85rb9E . This will calm mind, nervous system and energy system where you have blockages. Sorry to say but you have too much tension, learn to let go of tension with the breath. I am not sure if this is the real bhastrika breath. I am watching another videos on KZbin and is a kind o breath that you use a fast mode, not slowly as the video shows.
