I was taught in Catholic school that God isn’t actually a boy or a girl, but a non-gendered entity that transcends the traditional concept of gender and we just use “He” because the authors of the Bible wrote to their best understanding within the context of their patriarchal society :P If God truly does exist and transcends the traditional concept of gender, doesn’t that validate transgender and non-binary identities? It is really intersting that religion was a way to determine who was in the "in group" of a society, so community regulation/protection.
