Wow! When I was in college in the early 1990's, I took some auto body courses to work on my own car, not as a career choice, and no one was doing this kind of detail work. They were teaching us to work the dent out a bit, then fill it with bondo and let the paint do the rest. What you did here is nothing less than art. Just amazing!
@dentremover0111 ай бұрын
Hi Sean! Thank you for your great comment! I too did a similar course where the instructor hit a piece of metal with a hammer and we were told to fix it. Used filler like you did I often look back at that and smile, the skills have improved over the years PDR has been around for a long time, I did see a set at college but thought it was a gimmick!! Thanks again for your kind words and glad I could show you something new 😉 Merry Christmas Martin

I took my car to a PDR place on the IOW UK and was very very disappointed with the result and being charged £150 for it.. I watched a few PDR videos and improved on what had been done (that's how bad the 'expert' was ) but you sir are a magnificent Magician, it is craftsman like you that set the bar for excellence.
@57dogsbody3 жыл бұрын
That's amazing. Years ago I used to do "smart" repairs at the franchised dealerships so I've seen dozens of dent guys, and none of them could have fixed a dent that size. Quite often they made things worse!
@dentremover013 жыл бұрын
Hi 57dogsbody thanks for your message.... it’s amazing what’s possible given the time to repair and the accepted price. I love the big nasty stuff which is probably BodyShop and like to push the boundaries to see what’s possible. I do fail too! There’s still a lot of dent guys who just do the trade repairs and it’s all about time/money..... the going rate is less than 50 a car or 35 a panel something like that, so making a job look ok is all that they are after. I don’t do the trade as such as I like to produce the best standard without a time limit. Did you enjoy your time as a smart repairer? What did you do Thanks for watching and hope you’ve subscribed Martin

My oldest just turned 20 and put his two weeks in at his job to come with me and start learning. He will be watching A LOT of your videos Martin so I really appreciate how detailed you are in explaining our process. You’re actually helping me too, with how i will be verbally explaining as he learns. Hope you and Miss G are well my friend.

Nice. Seeing this kind of work, it always amazes me to see how flexible car paint is. Even with these pretty sharp-edged dents, it didn't come off during the repair and remained intact, as if nothing had happened.
@dentremover013 жыл бұрын
Hi Omar yes it surprises me too! I did a repair yesterday which required shrinking, super sharp Tools, heat, cold and lots of tapping and the paint was still ok. So it certainly can take a beating
@paulsutton58963 жыл бұрын
That is truly amazing. It demonstrates the fantastic adhesion of modern paints to the metal surface. I was expecting the paint to pull away, leaving some kind of paint repair necessary - maybe even a bit of filler and a complete panel spray. It is as if the Forth rail bridge were held up by the strength of its paint!
@dentremover013 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul. Yes I’m too amazed how the paint keeps intact sometimes. On some vehicles you can see the paint react and it’s quite nerve wracking but then it heels itself. I bet older paints wouldn’t stand up to the glue pulling. Japanese cars have really thin paint so they are not so good to glue pull. German cars have lovely paint. Thanks for watching and commenting Martin
