I use to be a photographer assistant as a teen and did a bit of modeling. I think Liz was doing her job. You have to point out things like that if the photographer doesn’t see it so the client looks as good as they can since they’re paying you to make them look good. I’ve also photographed a few weddings and i must be so annoying because I’ve had people couples do some weird ass poses to hide unflattering features that the camera causes from turning a 3d people 2d. From the modeling side of things, I wanted my photographers to give direction and tell me what looks the best for the picture. Nothing was worse than modeling for a silent photographer because feed back is so important, I can’t see my body but they can and should be able to see if I look awkward or without a neck.

Agreed, its not that she has no neck, she clearly does, its just that the angle looked off there, like the model was straining to look to the side sorta, not really but yknow what i mean, anyways thats what liz should have said, that maybe ed should move the angle very slightly more to the front of the model to show more of her neck/collarbone area but keep her head looking over her shoulder still, but thats all i got

I wish liz would have addressed both of them at the same time because it can feel weird when the photographer and their assistant talk about your body as if it’s an object in front of you, especially since they seem like pretty close friends. “Hey you’re pictures are looking really good but do you mind turning your head this way, I think it will help your neck stand out more. what do you think Ed?” Lol but idk

I hope your comment makes it to the top so Leo sees it, because I think you make a good point. I don't think she necessarily meant it as an insult (although I agree she should've phrased it better), to me it literally just sounds like her input. I thought this was supposed to be a collaborative experience between the two of them, it seems like Ed is very prideful when it comes to photography, so he wasn't willing to accept her point of view. Even her friend defended her so I'm assuming she didn't take offense, I can see why they've broken up so many times from this argument.. Ed seems like a very frustrating person to be in a relationship with.

Exactly. I do photography on the side and Liz's inputs are actually essential in shoots. It's not an insult to anyone, it's basically just a bad angle. It kinda put me off when Leo gave it a bad connotation, Liz didn't do anything wrong at all. She was actually kind enough still even after her fiance flirted with her friend right in front of her 😭. (ps.) It's normal to compliment your subject too while shooting but Ed went waaayyy pass the line. He wasn't being encouraging anymore, he was just making everyone uncomfortable.

I started high school in August. The day after that I was sent to the hospital because of suicidal behavior and spent nine days in the psych ward. It was actually kinda decent there. No yelling, screaming, fighting, abuse, nothing. But once I got home it all started up again. Your videos always put a smile on my face, and they’re some of the only things that keep me going every day. I thank you, and deeply appreciate you. Keep taking care of yourself as well. That’s more important than anything.

ikr? Going into inpatient therapy was the best thing that happened to me bc I didn't have to deal with my abusive mom, I actually had time and energy to put into myself! But seriously, I had suicidal behavior in high school too, even for years afterwards. I hope you read this, because I wish I could tell 13 year old me this: things do get better. I didn't plan on living to high school graduation, but now I'm 22, I've been going to therapy for over a year, I've FINALLY moved out of my mom's house, and I even got a job I enjoy. I didn't believe anyone when they said things get better when I was a kid, and I'm sure you feel that way too. But I promise, things do get better, so please hold on long enough to see them get better. I hope you dig your way out of the dirt and feel the sun on your face because it's the best feeling in the world when you finally do. Please stay strong, I believe in you!

She wasn't roasting her friend. Normally i find your commentary really insightful, but Ed wasn't teaching her anything, and losing your neck in photoshoots is a real issue. In modeling, you always want to elongate your neck. He's just a sensitive man baby about it. He only wanted to show off during the shoot and talk down to her. He is as gross as they get. The only thing I can fault Liz for is staying with Ed.

it's not Liz's place to critique him - especially in front of a client. That was unprofessional on Liz's part. And could made the client feels bad and ugly. That damages his image and reputation potentially and indeed he for sure knows way more about photography than Liz does. If she didn't agree with certain shots or thought the subject had "no neck" then she should have saved that for later and mentioned it to Ed in private. If Liz's goal was to "learn" from him then it didn't appear that way - she was instead criticizing his work... Since she's a novice she should have at least tried to stay humble and just be "receptive" for the duration of the photoshoot. That being said, Ed wasn't helpful or teaching Liz much - that's also true.

Second, if it's a model, they are used to being corrected and typically, even if they're paying for the shots for their portfolio, they want their body to look the best in the photos because that is what prospective employers look at. If no one corrects their posture or position in a certain pose, they'll have a bunch of unusable photos and also not have a clue of how to use their body during a shoot. A model might feel like a pose will look good, but doesn't see what the camera does.

@@SJlovesher49ers thank you! but i promise i'll be alright. these are issues i've dealt with all my life so far and most likely will for the rest of my existence. it's my normal and has ups and downs just like everything else we go through. and if i've managed to make it through some bad shit, i know i can get through another day. the bad times don't always dictate our lives, and sometimes they cause us to appreciate more than we would otherwise, which i think is pretty dang cool!

last summer i had to go to the mental hospital, but i slowly climbed my way back up. i met a guy who made me the happiest i had ever been for 10 months. he just broke up with me. i’ve been committed to dealing with this situation in a healthy manner, and it’s been one of the hardest things i’ve ever done. thanks for the vids leo they help a lot when i’m upset ;)

I have my ups and downs for almost 3 years now. I have had to push through a lot of pain and sadness, I’ve been lucky enough to have a great support system with friends and family but there are still days where I break down thinking about my lost loved ones. Thank you for asking how we’re doing… it really caught me off guard.. because I’ve had a really hard time, so much so that I’ve had to call days off from work to work on my mental health. its actually my 20th birthday and i sobbed today. my mom is in the hospital with cancer, i am scraping by just to eat and i'm nowhere where i thought i would be in life and it just hurts. but as dumb as it sounds, your videos (as well as others) help me escape and i always enjoy your content. i know that everything will be alright in the end but its just been hard today.

I never thought I would even tweet you this big ed story but even if I was way too late, at least I reached out to an awesome dude for sure. Mentally not the best. I lost custody of my kids a year ago due to a suicide attempt. I’m just struggling and missing my babies. On top of being tormented by my abusive ex boyfriend. I've been doing pretty alright, in my final semester trying to get both of my bachelor's degrees finished and my certificate in east asian studies finished. Little stressed as graduation closes in (it's in december for me) trying to find a job in Japan, but your videos are great to relax with and I always love your longer format content leo! My mental health is actually pretty good because I finally got to terms with being neurodivergent and I shared it with my managers at work and they are so helpful and accommodating! I also started a new job earlier this year and it’s such a perfect fit for me it’s almost too good to be true. I’m happy. I’m also still on antidepressants but I’m happy. i went through a breakup recently; this is my first time watching you after its happened. (dont feel bad, he was a terrible person.) ironically he would also shame me all the time and i was always scared to leave to the point i was stuck in the relationship for a year and a half. yesterday morning i started talking to someone new and they are already so lovely and amazing, i appreciate everything about them and i get to know they feel the same. my gender dysphoria has been pretty bad recently as well, but im happy you as a creator are here to support your viewers through their own personal lives even when you have your own.
