Hi Robbie At the 24mins mark u say listen to the birds ! Heard u say it in plenty of other videos ..... when you hear birds in the bush ! That's the best form of brain stimulation which has been proved by neurologists and studies ! Best you can do fishing in the bush.... listen to the birds and the water ! Take the music headset out and connect with the bush and Mother Nature ! Solid trout ! Licking my lips for the spawn run and holiday mode soon ! Lol

G'day Robbie. Some nice fish for a small waterway. What got me excited was the ability to actually walk up it without the possibility of being attacked by the dreaded blackberry vines. To see the countryside untouched so far from this curse is marvellous.

Another superb video Robbie, next level i reckon. I really like the longer ones. I thought that creek was very interesting because the riparian habitat was so varied. In places there was lots of cover and the bank side vegetation was dense. However in others, there was evidence of over grazing, erosion and almost zero cover. Also, the fish sizes were outstanding. I guess with all the recent rain, fish have come back in some of these waters.
@robbiefishing

Thanks Gary, I thought the same thing. When I use to fish it as a kid it was a lot more overgrown. I think that if we get a hot summer next year these trout will be in trouble.

I think your little camera box is something like the modern version of the old jam jar 'tackle box'. I'm not sure, but it seems to me that maybe there was a couple of years of poor conditions in that creek. Either low flow or something happened and few survived it then spawned last year. That would go a fair way to explaining the gap in sizes.
@robbiefishing
@robbiefishing Жыл бұрын
100% mate. This creek is marginal and susceptible to hot dry summers. The last 2 mild wet summers have created perfect conditions for them ... Until the next hit dry summer.

@robbiefishing
@robbiefishing Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching. I've used Mepps and Panther Martin, but have not heard of the others. I think they are American made spinners, is that correct? These ones I was using are made in France.
@papeep2694
@papeep2694 Жыл бұрын
@@robbiefishing Daredevil is American made and to my knowledge they are one of the oldest companies making tackle in the world. The Daredevil design is more of a "spoon" than spinner. The generic brands are made all over the world. Countries with inexpensive labor. China most notably. Even without identification these generic brands are obviously inferior quality but they do catch fish. When you handle the generics you can feel the cheapness. Thinner blades. Rough edges. Inferior hooks. Both Mepps Anglia and Panther Martin are excellent products in my opinion. Thank you again for sharing your adventures.

Thanks mate. I didn't really have any issues with it on this trip, but I know it does happen. You can use a small keel on the line to prevent it spinning. You can also take the lure off and lay a heap of line on the water, in the current and it will untwist.

Hey UF, I don't think many of the "over harvesters" would walk that distance just to keep a feed. Secondly, I think the threat of a hot summer is a greater concern than fishing pressure. 2 cool damp summers have created this. 1 harsh summer could quickly take it away.... Again!
