Cosby's deposition and police interview is considered evidence in a court of law, so yes there was evidence. If you are referring to DNA, you know full well that there would be no traces of DNA after so many years. You should also know, by the way, that finding DNA at a crime scene is not necessarily proof of guilt, even in a rape case... and since the issue s one of consent, finding evidence of DNA is irrelevant since Cosby isn't denying that he had sex with her. Contrary to popular belief DNA, is not 100% infallible; it can become corrupted. You make the mistake of thinking that when a person is raped, they happily trot off to the police station. What are you basing that assumption on? Are you a certified psychotherapist or counselor, are you a social worker, or a behavioral psychologist? Have you spoken with charities such as RAINN or rape crisis centers about what the statistical data says about the behaviour of rape survivors immediately after an attack? Why do you think that when children are raped and abused they often keep quiet about it, and only reveal their horrors as adults? The sad thing about you is that, given the stats on rape victims who do not come forward, the chances are you probably know at least two... two who are less likely to ever come forward in the face of your irrational bigotry and misogyny. Do you really enjoy helping rapists and abusers? You are now apologising, and making excuses for a rapist-those are your bedfellows. smh.
@misfitbrit19896 жыл бұрын
Long one here meant for the OP but anyone who wants to listen, take a seat. You need to sit down with a rape victim someday and hear their story. I was raped when I was 19 by someone who was like a big brother to me. It wasn't til the next day when I got up bleeding and in severe pain that I started wondering what happened the night before other than he was having a house party and I had a couple of beers. I confronted him and while not verbatim, he said in a text "Yeah, you got drunk, I was tipsy. You let me take your clothes off and eat you out til I got hard enough to put it in your butt. And because it was in your ass, you're still a virgin so what the hell are you so mad about?" I didn't go to the police because I instantly thought I would be reprimanded for underage drinking and drunk driving and also not believed or seen in a bad light for doing those things. Took some time but I finally broke down to my mom when I was home. My "friends" father was the local pastor and when my mom went over to his house and showed his dad the texts and read why I wasn't going to the police, his dad let all hell break loose on his son. Threw lawn chairs, grabbed him by his shirt collar to pull him in real close, swearing up a storm and kept asking him "What is your mother going to say?! You raped her and told her to drive home when she doesn't even know how she got there!" I was raped again by a co worker at 27 but there wasn't alcohol or drugs involved. Instead, he took advantage of the fact that I had blown my shoulder out, needed surgery and wouldn't be able to fight with at least one limb. I was called awful names, I was hit and honest to God thought my life was done because he was smothering me...I couldn't fucking breathe until he orgasmed. Let that sink in. The precious air it takes to sustain life was out of someone so that someone else could get their rocks off. I contemplated (and attempted) ending my life for weeks after. I prayed silently before undergoing anesthesia for my shoulder operation that I would just die during my sleep on the table. I did eventually go to the police on the guy (as did 4 other woman who had been assaulted by the same person) and to have to sit there during an interview, write down every sordid detail took every last fiber of my energy. And while they're trained to be sensitive, it is embarrassing to use the correct verbiage for body parts, state the the underwear you were wearing has non menstrual blood from not being ready for sex or to have it so rough that it hurt to sit down. Say you can absolutely hand over the underwear for DNA testing And ask if you should hand over the black pants because there could be blood or semen on those too. And you bled for days. And the perp threatened lots of stuff if you ever told. I allowed detectives in my social media accounts and phone knowing well and good, personal pictures were on there but what harm is that gonna do at this point? They're professionals; it's not like they've never seen bare breasts or a vagina. If it helps catch a mofo and put him away after you've had every shred of dignity and pride striped from you, just go with it. Gets better! After it was discovered the numerous women went to the police over the same person and I was the first to say something, female friend and coworker blackmailed all of us, likely paid by the perp to release "his side" AND HAD THE NERVE TO SAY "HOW DID HIS DICK TASTE BEFORE HE SHOVED IT IN YOU?! 😗"? Spread the pictures online of the women going "See? She sent a nude so she was agreeing to sex with him! What dumb c words! No one should ever work with or trust these people again." Harassing telephone calls day and night at al hours from people on "his side" since she decided to publicly leak our numbers and where we lived. It took a detective calling her to say that he was onto her, had been spying on her online activity and she was committing crimes of victim intimidation and harassment on 4 people and if it didn't stop and the posts weren't removed, he would slap cuffs on her on 8 charges. But, the internet is forever. I'm sure all the out of context BS and "dirty pictures mean consent" live in infamy on some perverts hard drive. My torn clothes that were found to hold his semen, my sweat and blood that was not consistent with menstruation but rather deep vaginal tears went to a prosecutor. She wouldn't take the case because there was no rape kit so she couldn't prove non consensual sex. A part of me died when I heard those words. And besides a very small percentage who actually report sexual assault and rape, there's a much, much lower percentage who feel like going to the hospital to have a metal thing part in their privates, get their vagina or penis and anus swabbed, pubic hair cut/combed through, pictures of your business taken that will be seen by not only medical staff but detectives and maybe a jury someday, too, get tested for STDS, having only a gown to cover you while all this is going on and sometimes have a shrink in the room asking you to recount when all you wanna do is shower and hope it's all just a horrific dream and someone will hear your cries and wake you up. No such thing exists for us. We get therapy, if we want to/can afford it. We try to have health relationships with others but wonder when they'll do something awful to us. Long story - but also just a VERY small taste of what it's really like. Proving consent vs non consent shouldn't be so difficult. There's a BIG reason why we linger and spend months, years or a lifetime before talking about it. It's kinda like the 5 stages of grief from denial to acceptance but some will deny their whole lives that their bodies, let alone the most intimate parts of their bodies were violated. Someone mentioned this earlier but obviously in the Cosby realm, there is no DNA. The clothing they had on is either gone or certainly washed by now. DNA is not the key to solving every crime. If there's let's say a murder in a home that you visited a couple days before the crime and your DNA or thumbprints are present, doesn't mean you did it. But if I say something to you like I have a Xanax script, offer it to you and do something to you while you're in a blurred state of mind, it's not ok and depending on what that thing is, could be illegal. Cosby admitted to handing the Lewds out like candy and having sex with the person he gave the pill to. That's rape. In pornography, (actual porn not homemade stuff), parties start with signing a contract of "I (name) of sound mind and body will (blank)". I'm sure they have their share of things that are assault or rape as well it's just no one says anything for the reasons I mentioned above and then some. But yeah. Do sit and talk with us someday when we're ready to talk about it. We are not believed, we're written off as trying to make a quick buck or going after vengeance. We're blackmailed and called names by people who used to love us before we said something. Then we're shunned. Our rapist will threaten us not only from his own mouth but using others too to shut down allegations. It takes guts to say something. One amazing thing I've learned about myself, I have those guts and then some. I've stood against both people and hope the world knows their name. One less person who is spared from such an awful and disgraceful thing and can live in peace...means I not only survived but helped another from enduring the nightmare so many others have had to.

After watching this case. Bill Cosby is suffering from Alzheimer's which worsens over time. Alzheimer's is a progressive disease, where dementia symptoms gradually worsen over a number of years. In its early stages, memory loss is mild, but with late-stage Alzheimer's, individuals lose the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to their environment. Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. Those with Alzheimer's live an average of eight years after their symptoms become noticeable to others, but survival can range from four to 20 years, depending on age and other health conditions. I work with elderly patients, he could not hold a conversation and replaying events in his mind.

People need to leave him alone. He's already blind, what can be worse than being blind and going to jail? Can you imagine the gut wrenching hell that his life is? He went from seeing the best life had to offer, to seeing nothing, and living in sheer hell. What people have to realize, is lawyers talk their clients into just pleading guilty, telling them they'll get a shorter sentence. Cosby isn't even allowed to say anything. He can't see, and is silenced by the court of law. It's not fair that he can't even address any of this to the public. He can't even give his side of the story. It's not fair. It is possible he could have been framed. Even if he did do it, it's not like he beat anyone, or killed them. The punishment he is receiving from this is worse than the death penalty, and I don't think he deserves it for all the good he has done.
