Hello, duh 😂😂😂 They have a HUGE ISSUE with Patriarchy and the GAG is they are ANGRY 😡 & JEALOUS that other Men 🧔🏼‍♂️👨🏼‍🦰🧔🏻🧔 have a Patriarchy because it worked & is working for them. So they take this vitriol out on Black Women (All levels of Abuse & Identity Crisis), meanwhile they’re actually sustaining themselves via another man’s 🧔🏼‍♂️🧔🏻👨🏼‍🦰🧔 Patriarchal System.

Connecting the dots would require empathy, which is inexistant in BM who have made a choice to hate BW. You can only have empathy for those you are not actively dehumanising. Furthermore, it's easier to punch down when you have no power. It's the coward's way out.

@TheAyisyenne - No power...As in BM? So says the BW who has next to zero so-called "power" than the BM. And what is this power you BW continue to spout, because as reality continues to show, everyone, in every social economic level, is out here scratching and clawing for the crumbs and pieces of the pie. Your comment alone highlights just how shook and brainwashed to fear something that does not exist has been implanted into the mind of the BW. And when the BW participates in the single motherhood, all of which is by design, the BW/Black mother indoctrinations that falsehood into their offspring; making them less of a threat in the dog-eat-dog world of adulthood. The Black mother took to the mountains that they could do it all by themselves, they were strong and independent, but it's funny how the product they put into the dating pool, be it that of the past three generations (Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z) both men and women have disagreed and continue to disagree with the inferior products they have and continue to run across. The dots individuals like yourself continue to fail to connect.

If you judge people using shallow superficial standards don't be surprised if those same standards come back to bite you in the ass. For men if you put this idealised standard of femininity and use that to judge women don't be surprised if they also want you to be 6ft tall and earn 7 figures. You get what you put out. A lot of guys just think that patriarchy = men. They are genuinely confused by the idea that dismantling the patriarchy will benefit them. Or they think, "My life sucks. So patriarchy isn't real." In these discussion we have to explain that while patriarchy privileges cis-het men, it's a net negative for the vast majority of them. It's good rattle of examples of patriarchy making life worse for men, but just make sure they're on the same page first.

The crazy thing is in my 30 years of life I've only heard about women talking about height in the past three years. The first time a former friend didn't go on a second date with a guy because he was too short for her and she already felt that she was already very short (she taller than me) and then every time after that, I've only heard women mention it in response to questions that men have asked them in relationship to it. My best friend married a man who was shorter than her. I had a crush in high school on a boy who is shorter than me. It is not the main thing women think about when they think about a man. Men talk about height more than the women that I've met and known throughout my life, both professionally and personally. I literally had to explain to my brother's friend the other day, that as a woman who is 5'1" if you were 5'6" and told me you were 5''9" or 5'10" I wouldn't know the difference b/c idc.
@Sammy-nj3io
@Sammy-nj3io Жыл бұрын
with respect, you are below the average height and that means a man who is average height is still taller than you. Seeing how the average guy is taller than you then maybe that plays into why you don't care about height? I am a woman of average height and its uncomfortable standing beside a short man... makes you feel huge. Shallow of course but the truth. It goes both ways, men often don't want to date a woman who is taller than them so a large part of the dating pool is off limits to me. But if we continue to question why we feel away about our preferences and normalize odd couple pairings then maybe we will see change
@angelr5694
@angelr5694 Жыл бұрын
@@Sammy-nj3io Agreed. Also, thank you for your insight. It could be what was normalized for me to your point. My grandparents were the same height as each other. I’m 5’8, bald, a retired athletic build and finally coming into my financial strides. The one thing I’ve noticed about this whole gender war is that everyone is trying to move themselves up the social hierarchy by finding demographics to punch down on, but when it’s (insert group here)’s turn to be marginalized against they want to form alliances with people they punched down on and will go back to the regularly scheduled program. Hierarchies need to only exist in work and government outside of that it’s just somewhat exhausting especially as a black man to figure out where you rank at. Hopefully in this century we can see the extinction in a social hierarchy because our survival has stopped depending on it.

Honest question(s) though. How is the acknowledgement of these biases as patriarchy going to change peoples desires? And what actionable steps can any one individual actually take to better their lives despite the disadvantages which patriarchy confers unto them? I know its just a short clip, but at face value it doesn't seem like a pragmatic solution to the many plights of the disgruntled/disenfranchised.
@jenniferw7928

Education can shift people's desires over time by giving them new perspectives. But you can only educate someone who sees you with enough value to listen. These patriarchal men have ignoring women baked into their ideology, so there's nothing for black women to do about it. Men can educate themselves and attempt to educate other men using Kim's talking points and the research she links. What more do you expect?

Maybe a bit off-topic (apologies), but I've found it as difficult to listen to a BW's viewpoint on BM when she refers to them as "niggas", as it is listening to a BM's viewpoint on BW, when referring to them, as "bitches". Not criticizing & not saying change/don't vent; but (out on my limb) I'm thinking most BM don't want to be called "nigga" by a random BW, and most BW don't want to be called "bitch" by a random BM. Maybe basic, foundational respect is a good place to start? Ok, off my soapbox and moon walking my "dusty" back where it came from now 😂 Damn sure don't always agree, but damn sure give love/respect (where it's due). Y'all be good/safe.

To be fair Kim.. you have publicly said you don't care if a man is short or tall but you are 5'0. I don't think it means that you wouldn't play into this patriarchal standard. Probably about 95% of men are taller than you. If you were 5'10 would you date a man who is 5'6?

The fact that 5'1 is a common height for women, and most women are fine with someone around their height would mean that shorter guys have no prooblems in the height department unless they all want to date 5"10 model types. So what's the issue.?
