Big up Coogler. He shows the compassion of Black people. He had the power to do anything he wanted with this sequel and he demanded Namor and Atlanteans be played by indigenous Americans because he wanted to highlight their culture and history in a big budget movie and show them as Regal. Even in Latin American culture and countries these people are never represented this way. When Hollywood think Latin people they mean fairer skinned European descendant Latin people like Diego Luna or Ana De Amas. Black people always making bridges others and never getting credit. Namor predates Aquaman so you can't copy something that you predate. Just that Aquaman became more popular character.

She saved Tchalla, by secretly holding the last surviving HeartShaped herb before Killmonger could destroy all of them. I respectfully disagree with your view on recasting the character of T'Challa. Chadwick Boseman in his own words said it was an honor to bring the character of T'Challa to live action after 50 years. Chadwick battled cancer while bringing the character of T'Challa to life. He understood the importance the character of T'Challa was to children. I think using Chadwick's death to profit from a movie is very disrespectful. A video tribute would have been better. The trailer looks exciting but i can't help noticing a severe lack of Black male characters in this movie. It's literally just my man M'Baku and two dozen women. I do like the Aztec/Myan take on Atlanteans, and Namor looks cool. I'm sure it's going to be good, but I just wish they had recast T'Challa.

Great trailer. Super emotional. Great music choices. Angela Bassett bringin the heat. But I do kinda disagree a bit about the criticism of the stakes in general, considering Phases 1 & 2 had relatively low stakes in comparison to what came later. In those two phases, it really was just about introducing us to the characters. We didn’t get a sense of a looming threat; we just knew that we’re meeting heroes who will soon meet each other. We’re back at that stage now, post-Endgame. We’re rebuilding. Given what’s been revealed about what the next 2 Avengers movies are, their announcements kinda cement what Phase 4 has been: setting up and introducing the new characters and former supporting characters individually, as these are the heroes we’ll be seeing cross paths in “Kang Dynasty” and “Secret Wars”. Their individual adventures are truly separate, but they are all still figures who will come across each other, and unite to fight a common foe. But regardless of all that, I’m definitely looking forward to “Wakanda Forever”. I didn’t know what to expect from the movie, let alone the trailer… but man, this was a beautiful trailer. Even if we’re not following the story of T’Challa anymore, I do love the notion of following the nation of Wakanda, and seeing how this civilization moves on and tackles its next threat. Comic fans know who could be a potential replacement for T’Challa, but I’m loving what I’m seeing so far. Can’t wait til November. Drops near my birthday. Couldn’t think of a more perfect gift!

I feel like not recasting T'Challa for future movies kills Chadwick Boseman's legacy. If Christian Bale died during the Batman trilogy production would they kill off Bruce Wayne? The answer is no. I'm not saying to recast T'Challa immediately but don't kill off the character entirely.

Yeah I don't mind not recasting of T'Challa but I saw some backlash about that trending on Twitter for a bit. Some people feel the totally opposite, that killing off the character is worse. They think that not completing the characters arc and not letting the character's popularity live on is a disservice to Chadwick Boseman's work and not what he would have wanted.

Korey always says Marvel is getting too silly. Here’s a list of Phase 4 films. Black Widow Shang-Chi Eternals Spider-Man Dr. Strange Thor Besides Thor, which films are “too silly” or “too comedic?” Yes, we have not reached the highs of Phase 3, but phase 3 was about payoff, PLUS KEVIN FEIGE TOLD US WHAT WAS COMING. Kevin didn’t spell it out until last night (though it’s obvious). I’m happy this has a serious tone, but I hate the complaint that this phase is too comedic. Maybe it’s just Korey’s phrasing of his complaint.

Also: y'all got it backwards... Namor (1939) came first. Aquaman (1941) is the rip-off. Aquaman didn't even have an Atlantean connection until years later, too... his dad was a Jacque Cousteau expy that, and I quote, taught him to breathe underwater.
