*me* Bobbit Worms aren't that scary *Animalogic* Bobbit Worms can split themselves into pieces when threatened, which can sometimes lead to a separate, genetically identical Bobbit Worm growing out of the lost segment, while also leading to the older Bobbit Worm growing back its lost segments *me* ya know, being an astronaut sounds pretty cool

As someone with vermiphobia, I can say that centipedes are far more comfortable to be around than any ragworm is. They don't evert their own bodies, they die when cut in half instead of morphing into two separate creatures; as arthropods they're more like us then some alien eldritch horror tremors monster like Bobbit worms. Snakes, eels, centipedes, caecilians, millipedes, even velvet worms are all cool in their own way. But actual worms, whether annelids, flatworms, tapeworms, roundworms or what have you, there's something deeply unsettling about them that's hard to place.
