I have hip replacement next week and now I know what to do for exercises and where to look each week for how to progress with which exercises. Thanks!!

Since day 1, (Posterior Total HR), I have been doing all the exercises, including 200-400m walk on crutches - now Day 6. But I was not given some of these exercises, such as: Glute sets, Quad Sets, Shorts Arc Quads, Floor Scrubs. Therefore I have only been given three exercises (on the bed) and also threee exercises off the bed, standing at a wall, supported by a rail: 1/ Standing leg our to the side and back to the centre (lead with the heel), 2/ Leg out behind the body, and 3: Knee lifts x 10 reps. Also, Get up and off the chair - 10 reps, 2 sets per day. I was told to wal a little further on my crutches each day. Hard act to follow whereupon on Day 2 (Since op) I was discharged and I walked on my crutches 400 metres to the car. Where do I go from here? I'm only at Day 6 and I have to protective weight bear for 6 weeks using my crutches. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you guys, just got a hip replacement done five days ago. I’m grateful you for your help.

Have you gone for both hip or single hip ..?
@ifiokakpan2034 Жыл бұрын
@@zasimakram9234 Single hip. I wanted the anterior approach but my surgeon gave me the posterior approach. My fear with the posterior approach is living with permanent restrictions. So far I’m healing very well. It’s been three weeks since I had the left hip replaced. Thank you for your attention.

I enjoyed these young men-next generation of Bob & Brad?😺 I’m having my left hip done next week, and I’m so glad my surgeon uses the anterior approach. The only precaution is to not break that 45-degree angle, but even that is sort of just to be on the safe side.

LOL, it took 8 days after emergency posterior lateral partial replacement folowing a fracture to get any kind of movement from the leg on the injured side. Then the movement was only a couple of inches. I used the leg lifter to move the leg to get out of bed and to lift it in a walking motion as I slowly made it to the bathroom. No way could I lift the knee even a little. On the other hand with hard work at age 80 2 months after surgery I was able to hike on a level trail 3.5 miles. Took a long time and I needed to sit down often so I pushed my rollator ahead.

I don't have a physical therapist to ask (thank you very much, UMR), and my therapy has been this video twice a day. The glute squeezes hurt. Like, a LOT. I'm still my first week post op anterior approach, but it doesn't seem like it should hurt this bad. Is that normal? It almost feels like the hip is going to come out of socket every time I squeeze.

Hi, happy new year! Can you do a video on strengthening your quad muscle? I have a femoral nerve/muscle weakness. Three years ago I had a surgery for a benign schwanoma tumor. I have difficulty with stairs and inclination. Over the years it has affected my knee and I developed arthritis. I'm not in therapy now but I try to do the exercises at home. Because of the pandemic I've been working from home and I haven't been moving much and I noticed my knee hurts and muscle gets weak. It is a struggle and I have to keep reminding myself to move. Thanks for your help.

*Can you do this even if you are having a Knee Replacement* ???

Do you provide the set of exercises for people 40+ or for 75+? I am going thru week #1, unable to do much. Maybe because I had a fracture bone before hip replacement?
