I hope some youth choose to look up to someone like Huberman, rather than some "musicians" and other entertainers that promote (even if not their goal) easy money and low standards of life. Edit...to add...I talk from experience as a person that when I was young, wish I had been able to see the value in what Huberman teaches: healthier way of living and gaining all the knowledge that was offered to me. But when you're young, flash and lights is way more appealing.

@@compgod86 As a 19 year old, I can confirm Dr. Huberman is one of my idols and hopefully there's more like me! Two of my biggest internet influences are Lex Fridman and Andrew and I'm in school trying to double major in psychology and computer science to help solve the problems of leveraging technology for good instead of bad and helping my generation with the epidemic of mental health :) There's so much good knowledge for us youth, but unfortunately it's not as seductive to idolize a minimalist scientist then it is to idolize a materialistic influencer with their desires met and shown to the world.

This is by far my favourite interview of the Huberdude. There is another interview which touches upon some of the same topics (wherein Dr Huberman and host are walking in a German(?) park), but it seems Huberman genuinely really likes this interviewer and it followe that Tom Segura's genuine interest in his guest resulted in a fascinating and highly entertaining interview. A deeper dive into the human being than I have ever seen. The honesty is so inspiring and heartening. They each clearly respect and like one another it is reciprocal and genuine and as one gets the most our of a guest by being sincerely and genuinely interested...this incredible podcast is the fruition of those factors. This podcast has been highly recommended to me by my favourite non son man, but muxh as I love him and Kreischer, I'd never listened to a Two Bears podcast before this...but when he told me about my favourire podcast host and his coNjoining....I could not resist. My opinion of Tom Segura has increased exponentially. I was so wrong about him and I am delighted to realize my mistake.

Someone on another thread on this video commented that the interview on "The Nine Club" was well worth a watch....so I checked that out & am listening to it still. You might enjoy it. Incredibly interesting and more in-depth with regards to Huberman's skateboarding experiences....and Huberman touched on the topic of GAINING WEIGHT/MUSCLE which is a subject of intense interest to me as my two sons are ~ after over a decade of trying to GAIN WEIGHT ~ still just out of the "dangerously underweight" range for their heights. Psychedelics killed my drug and alcohol dependencies - one trip two years ago to purge my depression and chronic anxiety from my system was the best decision I ever made. @@onepunchflan3071 I could drink like an animal in my 20s and 30s without too many negative side-effects, it's not that I got blackout drunk all the time, but it sort of becomes a daily bad habit. You drink 4 bottles of beer or a bottle of wine in the evening and you don't think much about it. This year I turned 40 and it was like someone flicked a switch. Low energy, headaches, joint pain and all the other stuff that comes along with it started to creep in. What kind of helped me was taking breaks so my body and my liver can take a break and heal. First 100 days of the year - not a single drop. My slightly older buddies tell me at 50 the chickens come home to roost, all the unhealthy shit you've done comes back to haunt you big time. That's where Bert is at, he will learn the lesson one way or another. Sure, he may delay the inevitable by training, going to good doctors etc., but you have to pay the piper sometimes. Tom learned his lesson and he looks 10 years younger and much healthier, Bert will probably learn the hard way one day. It's not a problem to drink, but you have to make breaks and be moderate. If you can't do this, it's best to lay of that shit for good. Sorry for my long toilet essay.
