Agree with Rare Breed. I finally found an Old Forester Single Barrel/Barrel Strength in my area and have never seen the black label 100 proof. I want one so bad! I also always have a backup Knob Creek 9-Year Single Barrel Reserve and an OGD 114, because they are starting to get a little harder to find.

Great list guys. I’d add Smoke Wagon UCUF, Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel, Jack Daniel’s SBBP, Eagle Rare, and Knob Creek 120 Proof. Oh for an expensive bottle, I’ll add Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend.

I used to back up bottles that I frequently drank, but quickly ran out of storage space. Now, my only backups are for much harder to find bottles or single barrels. If they’re readily available on the shelf, I no longer back those up.

I'd say I have one in the backup category, but another that would be there if I could find it more. I have plenty of backups for Peerless DO Rye since I can find it easily and I love it. Four Roses barrel proof is an auto buy if I see it but that's sadly only been twice.

Good picks here. Woodford DO SP I keep around, JDSBBP Rye and JDSBBP I keep around, KC SB SP, OF1910, Sagamore Rye CS SP & ECBPs. All these in the box, on deck and in the dugout

I wish I had bought a 3rd bottle of ECBP Pirate Batch 11. I have maybe 200ml under Argon gas and that's it. 4 or 5 more pours.

I always have a back up bottle of four roses yellow label. It's my daily drinker. I'm in the UK and bourbon is more expensive and the selection isn't very good. The four roses is cheap and it's good quality. I don't feel bad about drinking it so often.

Cool video - I’d love to be able to try these bottles as Woodford DO is the only one on this list sold where I am (though I’ve heard rumours about some people finding rare breed but I’ve never seen it). I don’t currently have any backups but I am still relatively new to whiskey in general so that may change.

New Hampshire state liquor stores just had the OF 100 proof black labels from two different Rick houses both floor 7’s for $59. Might’ve bought four of them. 🤷🏼‍♂️😂😂😂😂

None. The answer is none. “Back ups” and “bunkering” are creating supply and demand issues. This is keeping prices so high. It’s not good for the bourbon ecosystem.

respectfully disagree. I get if you are to horde and never drink something. But if you have the opportunity to buy something that you know you will drink and share with friends then I don't think that is a problem honestly.

@@bourbonkingdom yes. Although, since distilleries can’t predict what the demand will be in the future, they have no control over the supply. The supply is the supply for them. Consumers however have the ability to not buy more than they need.
