Thanks for your boxing tutorials. As someone who can naturally switch from southpaw to orthodox, and vice versa (I'm ambidextrous) these sorts of footwork drills are extremely valuable. It really throws people off for a second when you suddenly have the other leg forward, and as you know more than most, a second is all we need. Peace out bro. X

Hey Tony. Love that video. So much to practice there. I do have another training question. I read a lot of different people, giving a lot of conflicting advice about strength training for fighters. Everything from using weights to chopping wood to callistenics to no strength training at all to ext have been claimed to be best for boxing and combat sports for power development. It's my understanding that Olympic teams have scientists who study training methods and would know the answer to that. So I would like to hear you on the subject.

Hey everyone, some friendly advice, combine some of these exercises with Lomachenko's ladder drills, you can find a video of his workout on youtube with a quick search. I've been doing a lot of those drills and people at my gym have been noting how much better my footwork has been getting. I'm going to start incorporating these drills in with those, I imagine there's a lot to gain from doing both!

Hi Tony - love your vids mate - they’re really helping me out as I start my boxing journey. One question for ya - on the continuously stepping back 1-2’s it looks like you throw the 1 while stepping back with your back/opposite foot, then throw the 2 when your lead foot comes back - is this the foot/hand sync that I should learn when I’m doing drills to practice my 1-2 while stepping away from an opponent to keep them arm’s length away, or was it done that way just for ladder exercises?
