For those hoping the 2025 Mustang Mach-E would have NACS, here is the quote from Jim Farley during the original NACS announcement: "When we go to our second generation EVs, we will be equipping them with NACS." A lot of people assumed this meant all 2025 and newer Ford EVs would have NACS, but the Lightning & Mach-E are still first generation. I would not expect the Mach-E to gets NACS until it gets a major refresh. There were rumors that might happen in 2026 or 2027.

The change over to the NACS port is the main reason why I leased my ‘23 GT. The thinking is that once my lease is up, I’ll upgrade to a new Mach-E with a native NACS port.

That was a great, informative video! Thank you! You mentioned Magna having input for the front grill! There's the connect-the-dots...when you look at the pattern of the grill, the repositioned "gear selector" for 2025, the driver display and the center infotainment panel, all resembles those of our 2023 Fisker Oceans' . Magna built the Fisker Oceans in Austria for Fisker, Inc, in California. My wife just had an accident with her Ocean, sadly, and is now considering a Mach-E. As we loved the Ocean so much, the similarity of the 2025 Mach-E will have us wait for the new year to purchase one of these in the Premium Sport Package. The new position of the gear selector is a win. It is out of the way and so easy to work with. If the technology is the same, it is impossible to make any selection without stepping on the brake pedal.

That's just a guess-o-meter, estimate based on your driving weather etc. It doesn't necessarily mean you lost range.

@@MachE_VLOG My car is 12 years old, and I've been holding off on buying an EV until a non-Tesla model comes out with a NACS port. Regardless of what Farley said, this is the kind of change that will cause a good group of people to hold off on a purchase. Who wants to use an adapter for 10+ years? Even if you resell the vehicle, this could lower the value. I could care less about all the appearance changes - I wouldn't pay 5 cents for things like red or blue stitching. More resources should have been shifted into making the NACS switch happen sooner. The majority of people just want the fundamentals done right and the price to be affordable.

Do you think there is a magic number that would get a 24 GT Rally to be more appealing than a 25. Seems like the 25 model is coming in with a big discount base and upgrades?

I have a Model Y and I am contemplating to change to this car. I don’t know I’m so used to the Tesla Laziness, my cameras when I turn, my summon. Especially I feel like it’s more spacious than the Mach E. But my car insurance in Miami is insane, parts are mega expensive, I have a performance so my back tires give up fast. Otherwise I’m waiting until the refresh MY and get a Long range.

Ventilated seats, huzzah! But not on GT would be a super bummer cuz I need Magnaride!! To have to choose between ride quality and ventilated seats would stink. Keeping hope up that the GTs also have the option. I would 100% pay for Magnaride on a Premium. And it wasn't clear to me if heat pump was an option or standard...living in SoCal I don't want or need one, and would rather have the bigger frunk cuz we currently put a carry-on luggage in there on road trips. Frunk looks to be about 25% smaller cuz of the heat pump, which for me is a downgrade. Would be nice if it was an option so I could keep the frunk size. I don't mind the steering column shifter, at least it's not separate PRND buttons...those are the worst cuz you have to look down at them every single time to change gears. The current knob or a column shifter are both easier to change gears without having to look at it. I wonder if the infotainment processor and/or cameras have been improved, didn't see anything about that but feels like it's time for better res cameras, and definitely in need of a snappier screen. If the '25s have the same relative lagginess I'd be pretty disappointed.

I had a Subaru Legacy sedan that had a similar color to the Sand. That looks real good on the Rally. Those wheels will look good on any of the darker Rally colors, and are a great response to those that did not like the white. I think the white looks good on my Glacier Grey Rally. The new display should be coming with an OTA, I'm looking forward to having the charge rate available in the car.

I've always said you can tell a good car design when a car looks good in many colors and I think the Mach-E looks good in so many colors. I recently saw a purple wrapped Mach-E and that look great too. I think the Desert Sand really makes the Mach-E look a bit more rugged and it pairs perfectly with the Rally trim.

I love my 2021 Premium, and so far, I haven't seen any other wheel design I like better. I'm still curious why they haven't changed the charging port to the front or rear, so it makes charging at Tesla stations easier.

I love the new location for the e-break and shifter. Twice on long road trips my fidgety passenger hit the e -brake switch while at highway speeds.... Lucky it does not slam on the breaks, but it does quickly start slowing the car down.

Really like the sport option look. So so on ventilated seats as I’ve not really used the ones I’ve had in previous vehicles. The heat pump is great for the cold weather climate folks, but here is San Diego I’m not sure how much difference it would make. As always the devil is in the details as the pricing is going to be key. Not sure there’s a big enough incentive to upgrade as yet. Maybe a long time coming but for me, new battery chemistry with associated range and charging improvements is still my #1 factor to get me to make another EV purchase.

I imagine it is integrated into the left stalk with the blinker. We're testing a Honda Prologue right now and that is how they do it. While driving it today, I went to wash the windshield and accidentally shifted into neutral.

This is the news I was not expecting to see today -- thanks for breaking it (at least for me it was new news)! - I like moving the shifter off the center console. It's a frustrating control that can't be done with muscle memory -- it forces you to look at it - moving the wipers to the left stalk is interesting. How will they do lights, wipers, and turn signals all on one? No more down-to-wipe-once? - very much looking forward to seeing the impact of the heat pump on efficiency - the BlueCruise visualization looks new. Is 1.3 like that as well? - What about charging speed? Where is the charging speed? Please Ford, give the EV world charging speed on the car's display!! - Magenta looks awfully hotpink-ish to me, and if it replaces Rapid Red (like it did on the 2024 gas Mustang), that would be a shame - Would it have killed them to bring Kona Blue to the Mach-E? - I miss the days of colorful cars -- maybe it's time for manufacturers to just offer cars in primer and let us get them painted or wrapped... - 3 year Bumper-to-Bumper warranties need to be replaced. What better way to brag about reliability than to back it up with a 6-7 year bumper-to-bumper warranty?

I'm kinda bummed about the new heat pump. A long winter journey will be ok mostly if you have a full cabin and body heat, but the resistive heater is more effective to deliver actual heat for short city trips. EV's are short city trip vehicles, I prefer the convert my kW on board to tasty BTUs in the winter. I have a mach-e and I love it. 2023 SR RWD. The resistive heater was a major reason to buy it, since I almost never drive longer than 20 mins at a time. When winter sets in here in Atlantic Canada, it will be well below freezing for almost 8 weeks. There is always a brutal cold spell in February, and even the heat pumps on the houses can't cope. I want my cabin to warm up because I have young kids, and they do not have the luxury of child seats and boosters with heating. No garage, but L2 charging at home. We really love the scheduled pre-conditioning from the house energy when we get in the car every morning. Screw the range, gimmie the instant heat. They also read my mind by moving the gear selector. It works nicely where it is, but the real estate in the middle for storage is better. I'm sure they can improve that area over time, maybe to resemble the centre console from the Explorer EV in Europe

The 2025 numbers haven't been released yet but It depends on the trim configuration for the Mach-E. In 2024, the Mach-E top range was 320 miles.

I know that with the 2025 Hyundai Ionic 5 that has the NACS port native that it is slower from the Tesla Superchargers and cannot reach the speeds like you can with CCS1 at EA stations so It may be the same with the 2025. it would be nice to be able to go between the two ports for now until there is more standardization for all of the EVs on the market. I am going to wait until 2025 Mach - E or the Blazer EV. not sure yet.

The NACS connector now the SAE J3400, are expecting updates for current and voltage for newer EVs. The new standard aims to improve interoperability and efficiency across the EV charging infrastructure. This means newer EVs will likely support higher voltages and currents, enhancing charging speeds and convenience. Ford may be waiting for the updated charging interface before adapting it as standard equipment.

Sorry I haven't been watching your guys's videos. I finally after a year of watching your videos and everybody else out here got myself one of those beautiful Ford Lightnings. The purchasing experience was a absolute nightmare that I'm still dealing with almost a year later. I didn't get my charge port they didn't give me anything to charge my truck with except a silly gift card to electrify America that lasted a whole three charges because I had to drive a hundred miles out of the way just to get a charge. And as of two weeks ago, My 79,000 vehicle is only worth $46,000. And I'm going to say this again It hasn't even been a year. So as much as I like your videos and how informative they are I am absolutely horrified that I purchased an electric vehicle from Ford. And I would advise anyone who is thinking of buying an electric vehicle to not bother with Ford. Maybe my attitude will change when Ford starts doing the right thing but as of right now I'm in the whole $30,000, and I still haven't gotten my charger installed yet.

Here's the thing about Ford that challenges any loyalty our family has going forward. Like most people we waiting nearly a year for our 2022 Premium, rear wheel drive, 310 range which replaced our Cali Route 1 from 2021, and my wife has a hybrid Explorer. We were notified we would get the Tesla adapter in October, early last summer. Yesterday we were told it would be November, (NO SH!T, if then) and when I asked where we were on the list she said 136,000 to go! That sounds like we have been bounced back down the list to fill other orders sooner. So instead of looking at the 2025 Mach-e I am leaning toward the Acura or Buick. I'm really beginning to hate Ford!

When did you order the adapter? I don't I've heard Ford or anyone else post any numbers about how many adapter orders they have or where anyone is in the queue. Ford has been upfront about the fact that their supplier (Tesla) not making enough adapters and they recently signed a deal with Lectron to supply more adapters. Ford is frustrated with the delays caused by Tesla. Tesla has created the same issue for Ford, Rivian, and Chevy owners with their delays.

Dunno, I have a job 1 Route 1 that I bought in 2021. I feel like Ford really did us dirty as far as updates and BC. No NACS seems like a big loss, even with the adapter. The difference of having NACS is night and day, like a whole new world. Given so many Tesla stations aren’t v4 it makes charging the Mach-E very awkward to charge. I’ll be honest, never really thought about Tesla much till I charged my Mach-E at one. That said the 2025 does look nice and got some good changes. Fords software needs updated, get rid of Synch…
