Interesting to see how orange shirt guy is so proficient in the 3/4 time. He was so indignant about Brian’s assertion in episode 1 because he felt like the thing he was really good at was being ignored.

a genius detail is in the time signature of a waltz, the first episode he says the step touch works with every song in 4/4 so it always works, but a waltz is in 3/4. a waltz throws him off because it’s not the 4/4 that he always dances in
@chaseotsuka68735 жыл бұрын
The time signature is actually 6/8 since it's a faster, two triplet phrase rhythm. Also the dance itself would technically be Viennese waltz, not regular waltz. Interesting thought though.
@BeatButton5 жыл бұрын
The tempo has no bearing on the time signature :P It could be 6/8, or 3/4; they're fairly compatible Just like a song that sounds like it's in 4/4 could be in 2/4

One of the things I've loved so much about this is that it tells the story in a way that *only this medium can.* This wouldn't work as a stage musical. It wouldn't work as a musical movie or even TV series, but DAMN does it work as a series of instructional videos. Heck, even the humor: you couldn't slide those Declan jokes in that way in ANY other format. GENIUS.
@nicolasmaganto86776 жыл бұрын
The name of the series is Dances Moving, moving from Baltimore to New York, it is a metaphor about the consequences of the moving of BDG. In this episode, for example, it is the long distance relationship. And the dances are related, this dance it is for partners and David can’t do it so he feels loneliness.

In my opinion this is one of the realest episodes, realising how lonely you are when your surrounded by couples can be so painful. I relate way too much on this one, especially when you have someone you would want to be dancing with but for some reason or another they are right out of your grasp and so you just watch and try not to act too awkward and hope everyone doesn’t see how much you hurt.

Lyrics: *Intro* Here's that new thing that you're choosing, get up and Dances Moving! EPISODE 5: PARTNER DANCING Welcome friends, I'm BDG, and I'll teach you how to dance properly! It's time to up your dancing flairs, so everybody, let's get in pairs! We have an odd number in our dancing zone, so I guess I'll teach you while I'm on my own. That's all right! It's still entrancing When you learn about partner dancing! Are you ready? Here we go, 3 - 2 - 1, partner dance! *Partner Dance Song* Please, listen carefully. Yes, even you. The rhythm has shifted, you see, you see. We're dancing in pairs; one plus one equals two. But now we must find our groove in a three Because waltzing is what we are learning today. It's trickier than it appears, my dears. No talking aloud, your limbs must convey Every impulse decision. Don't look at your peers. It's just you and your partner; you must be a team. One leads and one follows- but wait, but wait! Love isn't steamrolling. No, that's just mean. You both have to listen, collaborate-- and then Look at them; when you see it you'll know. Gosh, look at them; they're the stars of their very own show. Look at them; see, they're moving as one. That's what we're going for; Once you find that then you're done, And you don't have to look anymore. She's there. It's good. Case closed. Lock the door. And you hope, this time, maintaining your frame, You're really all in; it's your life not some game now-- Y-yes! The frame! The frame must be strong. Establish your space. It's for you and for you. And Declan, I swear, if you can't get along I will banish you straight back to episode two, So just compromise, listen. Don't look at the floor. Look into her eyes. It's no big suprise that You're making a dance where there was none before. You're gonna be fine, long as each of you tries But just look at them; when you see it, you'll know. Look at them; they're the stars of their very own show. Look at them; see they're moving as one. That's what we're going for; Once you find that then you're done And you don't have to look anymore. She's there. It's good. Case closed. Lock the door. And you hope, this time, maintaining your frame, You're really all in; it's your life not some game. But you try... *Outro* G-good work dancing, everyone today! Make sure you tune back in next week for more DANCES MOVING!

"Look at them, they're the stars of their very own show" the idea of seeing other couples together, seeming so in sync with eachothers space and time. You can't help but yearn for what those couples have- "once you find that then youre done. And you dont have to look anymore. Shes there. Its good, case closed, lock the door." The self reassurance that if you just breathe and compromise and pray your words get through the phone everything will be set back into place and youll be just like every other couple in sync, sharing a space.
