@@rachelh5211 if I remember correctly, Šostakovič was forced to write music for the Russians against his will because he was so good at it. He disliked music and didn’t want to make it but he had to. In order to keep his work his own, he engraved his initials into the songs using the notes themselves and their tune to create a leitmotif within his music. If I am wrong, please correct me.

Now I know now why balls way back in the times of kings and queens are held in big echoing halls in their castles because the Acoustics and reverb hits different just like in this huge airport, it's just a couple of intstrument but it sounded so full and complete, there is really no need for electronic mic or amplifiers. The echoes are so much different from a hall versus a theater, it sounded so elegant given the amount of people
@the_tactician9858
@the_tactician9858 6 ай бұрын
Very sharp! I find that a lot of old theatres and halls have fantastic acoustics. Churches, especially once you remove the benches, are a great acoustic place as well. It makes sense to build a place of public speaking or music and make it so that noise carries further, and its kind of a shame that modern technology has made it redundant.

You’re tired, your flight was delayed 3 times, you just wanna go home, you don’t care if the plane or seat you get is the worst seat in the world, you just want to be seated at all. Your mind is half-working at this rate as you continue to sit and waste more and more time at the airport when suddenly out of nowhere, you hear a piano. It has a catchy tune, but then you hear more. A saxophone, a violin, a trumpet, a tuba. You are absolutely confused. This doesn’t seem real, it doesn’t feel real, but in all honesty? Given this happened in the secured area of the airport, security was most likely already aware that this was going to happen. This is what so many people in this comment section are ignorant about. You can't do stuff like this without security knowing about it. Personally if I were working security, I'd be enjoying it but also doing my *job* of keeping an eye on the crowd.

I think they were anti-anxiety headphones - not producing any sound at the time, but muffeling the noise of the crowd. I've seen people wear them that way before, especially small children. It brought me such joy when the child took them off to hear the music better. It was as if the music erased the anxiety of being in an unfamiliar place.

This makes me feel like I'm in the Victorian era in a long flowy puffy gown with frills and floral fabrics, surrounded by nobles from different kingdoms, hushed chatter, and clatter of wine glasses toasted. The eggshell white walls designed with careful detail of intricate patterns and the windows decorated with petunias, vines, and lavander that make the view from the balcony floor feel like the castle was but a fairy forest. The food, catered to the best quality and the ballroom dancing commencing as a hand reaches out asking to dance. Everyone in sync as the symphony plays; the warm atmosphere filling the air.
