Used to be a tattooist, fascinated with medical tattooing. I've seen some fabulous nipple.....images on chests. It looks more normal. I think he's referring to losing the sensation of nipples; which the tattoo can't match. I also love what they are doing with scars; either making them less obvious...or more...beautiful. Long ago planned that if I should have a mastectomy....I would replace them with beautiful tattooing. Probably herbs and flowers....not pictures of breasts. (MANY older women in my family have had breast cancer) I admit that would leave me with flower buds and herb tips showing out of the top of my shirt rather than cleavage. That isn't normal. So maybe I'm more of a rebel....STILL...than I realized. The kind of visual that says "hey, that's cute....aren't there supposed to be...breasts there? Yeah. I prefer flowers. The normalisation of body modification? Even without considering the surgeries, this has certainly happened re tattoos. I try not to be judgemental but it does disturb me to see erogenous zones being, effectively, mutilated. How is that substantially different to female "circumcision"? I'm aware (as someone trained as an Anthropologist) that body mod has always been entirely normal in certain (very trad) tribal cultures...I'm just not convinced that its motivations are healthy, in the developed "West." I wonder a lot about how, when certain frontiers are conquered, new ones get invented. Young people need rites of passage. It's like they're emulating tribal practices and creating new, substitute ones. The question is, is there a lot of self-harm and self-hatred lurking behind legitimising these procedures, or is it legit human self expression? A fashion trend? It stops looking individualistic and tilts towards tribalism, when lots of people are doing the same thing.

I find the ‘no nipple’ thing so weird cause humans and mammals have nipples/areolas. Women use it to feed our children, and both men and women can experience arousal and sensation from nipple play during sex. It just makes you not look human when you don’t have them. My aunt had breast cancer, and had to have both breasts removed. She lost her nipples and most of her areola. She ended up getting a realistic tattooing of them. It’s very impressive looking, but obviously not the same as what she had before. I think her and a lot of other survivors wouldn’t be too thrilled knowing people remove them purely for aesthetic purposes.

I completely agree with you. One of my friends was wearing a G bra and had had back surgery. Yet when she went to ask her doctor about breast reduction surgery she was told it wasn’t covered for her. She ended up having to pay out of pocket for the surgery. If she’d said she was transitioning she’d have had her breast removed and would’ve had it covered. This is plainly wrong.

I hear that. I suffered with Adenomyosis for many years and was begging to have a hysterectomy. I was denied because the surgeons thought that if I wanted to have a child one day, I wouldn't be able to. The adenomyosis would have also affected by ability to carry a baby to term, but that point was mute for them. I had a legit medical/quality of life reason for the surgery, but I was denied unless I paid for it myself. We're in an alternate universe now it seems.

Friendly word of woman to woman advice (not a medical practitioner). If you start having heart palpitations, excessive fatigue to the point of sleeping too much, feeling extremely cold, and just overall unwell, I would implore you to seek medical help. Contrary to popular belief, you can, in fact, expire from having periods that are too heavy. I came very close, myself. Went to ER. Doc told me my CBC was the lowest he had ever seen on a conscious person. He said if I'd have waited 1 more hour to come in, I likely wouldn't have been amongst the living anymore. We need to start teaching differently because there is a difference between a period and hemorrhage. It can start out as a period and end up hemorrhagic. I was going through a super plus tampon and an entire overnight pad within minutes. Why didn't I go directly to the hospital? Partly because I was afraid no one would believe me and partly because we have always heard periods won't unalive you. I'm here to tell you, that is false. Ironically, the nurses I saw first in ER did _not_ believe me and for reasons beyond me thought I was there for pills or something. They wouldn't even let me lay down to get comfortable because they said I'd be going home soon. As it turns out, once doc saw my CBC, I was admitted overnight for a transfusion and observation. I'm just saying, doctors should not be downplaying the month long period. It can have serious consequences. If you're 41, whether you have children or not, they shouldn't even be telling you that you can't have a hysterectomy. They shouldn't tell any woman who wants one that, but the guidance used to be at least 26 if no children. How did they creep it up to the 40's?? That's the definition of medical overreach.

It seems like this could cause all kinds of problems with blockages or abscesses. Your nipples are a necessary part of your bodies functionality.
@hellomynameisrioo2 ай бұрын
Absolutely not true in the case of double incision top surgery. Do you understand how nipple grafts work? Our nipples are completely removed, then they remove a small circle from the chest (not where the nipple previously was- that part of the chest is removed), then they sew the grafts back on. The nipples are not attached to the nipple stem, it's grafted to a new part of the body. I do not have grafts (I had realistic tattoos done instead) and three years later I have better results than many individuals I’ve seen with grafts.

And that's how it should be. I hope the laws about this in America are changed so that mastectomies stop being a trend and go back to be a procedure restricted to those with gender dysphoria. I'm a woman who had breast cancer a few years ago. Very, very early detection. The cells were in a circle around one nipple so it had to come off. I have an implant and natural cleavage and all is good. A year later they did a tattoo and touched it up a year after that. For a trans man or man nipple protrusion isn't necessary but I'd think for a woman it would be. A 3 D tattoo is just flat with a shadow. Anyway, I'd sure like to have it back. I've never looked at if you can believe that. I'm squeamish. I couldn't look at the screen shot in the video. I doubt very much if a straight man can deal with this deformity. I'd like to meet one just to see. But hey, I'm healthy and hope to be for a long time.

There are definitely Men out there that will absolutely be okay with your chest just the way it is. Men are visual creatures, as long as it looks like a boob, they'll be happy lol. As a very "late bloomer" myself, and also having friends who have never really "bloomed", I was surprised to find that Men will go with pretty much anything, even if you're flat chested, lopsided, one bigger than the other, pointy, round, perky, droopy, large and in charge, or itty bitty... I've also seen Women who can't, or have yet to get implants after a single or double mastectomy, that have found a partner. There are also plenty of Women out there who are insecure for various reasons about their chest, or just don't like or want any attention to it and choose to keep their top covered up, which plenty of Men are understanding and fine with... And in your case, because you got an implant, you can still wear a sexy bra or lingerie if you don't feel comfortable showing off your top half. Either way, don't let that discourage you from finding someone or think that it will hold you back in any way because that's simply just not true! You're a survivor and your tattoo is your battle scar! You got the chance to live and got your health back. That's what's most important ❤️

Nipple removement really is Body Modification(TM), just like Tattoos, multiple Piercings, Upper Body and Lower Body surgery.
@DellaStreet1232 ай бұрын
Body modification is something that is not easy to understand to me. I had my earlobes pierced when I was a young girl, my mother talked me into it when she was having her earlobes pierced as well, but I haven't worn any jewelry in them for decades because I didn't feel comfortable with a foreign object in my body. When I saw somebody who had had "conch removal", i.e. the entire outer ear removed except for the rim, I wondered if he'd end up regretting it. Many people regret their tattoos, but those can be removed, to a certain degree. I don't think you can get your ear back. It's not just skin, you need cartilage as well. And even if it's possible, it will be more expensive than having it removed. Everybody who knows how to use a scalpel can remove the conch of your ear, but any attempt to restore the ear would have to be done by a plastic surgeon.

Hi Buck! You’re amazing- don’t know if anyone told you that today. My wish is that people would have to wait to over age 25 before a surgeon would consider modding their body for any reason- and that should include therapy. At least a year. I know that seems unrealistic but it’s just so important to be mature enough to know what you want FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. (And some people, like the trans man in “What is a Woman,” even wish they’d never transitioned even though they did it much later in life!) Re: nipples- I know a couple ladies who had to have mastectomies due to cancer and chose not to have implants nor their nipples re-attached. It was more for the ability to not have to wear a bra, so they said, which I completely understand! Edit: you’re 100% correct and very perceptive about people who just wanna look whack. The half-shaved eyebrows, piercing, and tats kinda gave it away. Not judging- I know plenty of people who like body mods and that’s fine as long as they’re adult. BUT just saying, I don’t even like the tat I got at age 38, 20 years later 😂 so people, be careful how much modding you do. Last edit: you’re not the only one who’s confused 😂 WERE ANY OF THOSE PEOPLE EVER EVEN DYSPHORIC?!?!?!?!
@madtabby662 ай бұрын
I had a third nipple removed because it’s supposed to be a cancer risk. Back in the day a trans had to go through 2 years of living as their chosen gender as an adult before anything permanent was done. If after 2 years you were “this is right. This is who I am” then off to the clinic you went. If you were still miserable obviously this wasn’t your problem. And the medical world has decided that you don’t need dysphoria to be trans.

Thank you Buck for talking about these important issues. Couple of things…1) gender nullification-do these people assume to use the women’s bathroom or locker room? Why do women ALWAYS!!!! have to give up OUR freaking bathrooms and locker rooms? I don’t care if a male has his parts removed, he is still a potential threat. 2) I have worked in cancer centers and for women surviving breast cancer many of them have run into insurance issues not covering aspects of reconstruction, ie-nipple tattoos. They have been turned down for coverage because insurance companies will claim this is aesthetic/ornamental so they won’t pay these claims. If these non-binary are SAYING OUT LOUD ON SOCIAL MEDIA that they are doing nipple nullification electively because of their “choice” and that this is a body mod then this will ABSOLUTELY reinforce the stigma on women who are trying to appeal insurance claims because this will set a precedent! Women are ALWAYS getting the shit end of the stick every single time ‘trans’ or ‘non-binary’ people push their agenda. The only oppression going on is on women and girls who bear the burden imposed on us by this ridiculousness!

Enby here, and speaking from the POV of someone who does have therapist diagnosed chest dysphoria: I have struggled with it my whole life and I have never done anything about it due to a combination of having learned to deal with it before there were other available options, and a phobia of medical procedures. However if I ever do get brave enough to have the opp, I don't care if I have nipples or not, that's literally the least of my worries, a flat chest would be heaven and I'm old enough to understand myself and know that I am right about this I feel like no nipples is a non-binary trend because if you start as "woman" and your end goal is not "man", you're not trying to fit in so it doesn't matter so much, and being afraid of medical procedures I absolutely relate to the quicker recovery thing However, I am also not of they're generation and it does worry me to see them describe it as "weird and wacky" and talk about it like a fashion trend, it took me until I was 25 to work out my gender identity, before then I was yo-yoing between butch girl, tomboy, trans man and a few other things, and it took me until I was nearly 30 to be sure I wouldn't change my mind again, these kids have made this decision so young and I hope for they're sake that they are right the only reassuring fact is that I also know the trendy persona these people show on social media is often far removed from they're real self, and that talking about mental health struggles and therapy isn't a level of vulnerability most people feel like showing to strangers on the internet, so perhaps they have more help than they let on? - Buck, if you read this I love your channel, keep up the good work :)

In addition to responding to sexual stimulation, nipples release oil and sweat thru ducts. In BIOLOGICAL females, nipples typically help release milk thru milk ducts. Milk ducts can become clogged and become infected even if a woman is not breastfeeding. It is also possible for biological males to lactate under certain circumstances usually due to hormonal imbalance. Doctors do NOT know all the health risks of removing nipples. In general, removing healthy tissue is not recommended.

Then at 25 - I took a new job- and I’ll b damned- I met MY SOULMATE- a female. After a solid year of tryin to stay happy in my current life & stay in my marriage because he was the father of my 3 children who were still so young- I just woke up one day & realized I couldn’t live the rest of my life that way. Scariest damn thing I’ve ever done…I left my husband/ started seeing my soulmate. My ENTIRE family disowned me & I also lived in a fairly small town- so EVERYONE in the area knew what I’d done! We had both been born & raised there so we became local gossip for the next few years! but I didn’t turn back. A year later we moved in together WITH my 3 kids & we’ve lived a rather happy life for 30 yrs - we are still together. My family eventually came around & grudgingly accept me & my partner & our lifestyle! Lol- we were “The local lesbian couple - and had very few issues over the past 30 yrs! I now have 9 grandkids - all my kids turned out well- all straight/married & happy w/ children of their own. But I guess that’s my entire point- I DID NOT know what I wanted at 18 and honestly didn’t even know who the hell I was yet! And everyone that knew me always said I was BORN MATURE! So these kids HAVE NO DAMN CLUE WHAT real life is- or may end up being for them! These activist/ Drs/ etc need to let them experience life for 3-5 yrs BEFORE they are able to commit to ANYTHING!! I am still diagnosed with gender dysphoria but after three years of T and not getting any closer to passing... I decided to detranstion because in my opinion true gender dysphoria has a lot to do with passing. This is after 6 years of all day every day therapy... I still decided to detransition even though I'm still diagnosed with gender dysphoria. I have my issues with living as a woman but I was not stealth and I really struggled as a non- passing trans masc individual. I loved the way T made me feel... but for now I'll live as a woman... because that's what I was seen as. Do you know what it's like to not pass at all and be placed with the men in psych wards... it's not a safe situation... I'll leave it at that. I might be one of the boys but I'm not safe sleeping with the boys especially when put with the most dangerous boys... why to teach me a lesson... I might be one of the boys but I don't want to be locked in with the boys... I went off T right then to be the masculine girl with the girls.

When I hear trans femm/masc, I think either the no effect Trans, or the ones who want to stick out.
