Buddy Guy is a National treasure and is a world icon for the Blues...love you Buddy and thanks for showing us the light!!! Muddy on his deathbed told Buddy to keep the Blues alive and he has come through handsomely! Remember that the Blues is the roots from which all other fruits are gotten implying there would be no Jazz, Rock-N-Roll, or any other genre!

But I'm 50+ years old, and I don't hear none of the big ones, on a regular basis, or none at all, talk about Muddy. His name is brought up on guitar specials and award shows, but who will take up the reins after buddy is gone. Soon, both men will be forgotten, and the truth of it will be too. How can the origin of a thing continue other than the action it caused. No sir, the memory of the man will fade, but what he built won't ever. That is legend, and I bet, how it should be. The man is flawed, but what he builds becomes more and more perfect, through time. Amen? in my opinion God gave us these men and what they created for us. perfection in a ugly world

The last of the best, without a doubt. I played in a band during a fest that closed for his band (and some others) in New Orleans, before Hurricane Katrina. I had to borrow a bass from a friend for the gig- I got there, the bass wouldn't play. This beautiful young woman from Buddy's band lent me her vintage Rickey for the gig. My friend's Fender had the annoying amp jack, break loose problem. I'll never forget her, she was a star. But this man, on stage, was staggering. In person, very sweet, but I only met him backstage, afterward, for a minute.
