I bought this one off of Kyle. It’s monstrous. I have owned 3 5150’s and a 6505 and it’s basically the same thing in a sense for sure. Especially with its hi gain channel. Basically a mimic of the 6,6,6 tone dialed in as well. Also I don’t use a boost. Although it wouldn’t be bad with it. Just my preference. Love this amp.

Great videos. A friend recently bought a new 6262 inf and when he took it out of standby it immediately blew the main fuse on the back. We checked everything and put another fuse in it and same thing. He had an 8 ohm cab in the corner and we hooked it up and when I slid the ohm slide switch to 8 ohms it hung up, didn't feel right, so we cycled the ohm switch on the back of the unit a bunch and the amp now works great.

I had one of these in 2009 and it was *fine*... Touring with it was always scary because it felt so cheap, and I honestly felt it was gonna blow up... which it did of course haha. My biggest gripe is the lack of the resonance control. Super weird to omit.

I just acquired a 6260 recently. I'd say as is it's 80 percent the 5150 tone. Of course no resonance control is a big missing factor, but it's still doing the job. Being an OG 5150 nut but not willing to shell out 1500 bones, this will work. Your 6262 sounds killer.

Wanted to come back and say that these amps crush so hard whenever you put a clean midrange boost in front and dime the gain on the crunch channel all the way to max, as well as adjusting the face knobs to taste because you’re gonna get a really full tone from the amp after you crank the gain all the way. I’ve played around with it for Djent/Metalcore tones on a 7 string and it’s everything that I love in regards to tube guitar tones.

Replace the stock tubes and it becomes a completely different amp that actually keeps working. Buddy of mine has had one for about 5 years. First thing he did was retube it. Hi Kyle, Always like your videos. I actually own the Bugera 6262 infinium head, I play a lot of drop tunings such as C# D and also use a Ibanez baritone tuned to B standard. As you demonstrated it takes a bit of tweaking to get a good heavy tone out of the 6262, but it does shine when you get it tweaked, I do a lot of recording with a really good drummer and we’ve gotten some killer recordings using the Bugera, I’ve used the Mesa Boogie flux five overdrive pedal and it sounded really good. Just takes a little work to make that amp chug properly. Keep up the great content Kyle! Also, I did upgrade the tubes to a set of JJ 6L6 tubes.

Dropped C sounded nasty and gnarly in a good way to my ears. Like, it was messy in a way fitting of Dying Fetus or Deicide. That brutal tech death/slam type of messy. I really dugg it, at least in the recording. I feel like a preamp style distortion would work well in the FX loop with the gain on both it and the amp turned down to like 3 or 4 if you still boost the front input. I have a different amp, but I do that so I can still use the clean channel but also use it as a 2nd distortion tone for leads or for quad track layering on rhythm.

for what its worth, after installing new tubes (JJ ECC83s in both amps, and sovtek 6L6WXT's in the 6260 and JJ 6L6GC's in the 6262 infinium) they got me through my stupidity after selling off my 6505+. They definitely do not have that familiarly tuned eq section like the 5150 series, and CAN sound pretty harsh, but i think when they are dialed in right they sound really awesome, especially when i consider that i paid less than 300 for each of them. I like my 6260 with a Boss SD-1 and the 6262 with a TS9 or other tube screamer-ish boosting it.

I have this amp and the overdrive really highlights or tames down some bad frequencies. I prefer my Maxon OD808 with active pickups for Drop C. The Maxon OD9 sounds very different, a little bit harsh but for passive pickups I like it more, also the crunch channel with the OD9 with gain sounds full-bodied. For modern stuff I have used a ProTone Dead Horse Overdrive and it can tight the amp for Drop Ab on my 7-string.

I've just done some recording with my 5150 sig and 6260 with EL34s. Not having the resonance was good because it's such a quick and easy way to mud up the sound. the Infinium technology DOES NOT mean you can use any power tube type you want. It self bias but you still need to stay in the same family. Like if it uses 6L6's you can NOT just put in EL34's. No wonder people end up blowing these up so often. It is almost always user error because of none sense like this. Biasing is not just about changing to different types of Power Tubes. Every tube change should also be done with a re-biasing even if you buy more of the same tubes type from the same people. Heck by rights in a none self biasing tube amp you should even do it with the same tubes you already have because the proper bias level changes as the tubes age. Self Biasing just does all this for you it DOES NOT mean you can through in whatever tubes you want. Seriously ask Bugera themselves or Hughes & Kettner if you should do this. Both will tell you NO unless they specify otherwise like the Hughes & Kettner Tri-amp can but it's self bias is different than other amps.

Bugera amps fell off the face of the earth. Can't seem to find a new one-or used one anywhere unless its a private seller.

@@krisetches9133 Just because it isn't a 2K mesa boogie amp doesn't mean it sucks. My Trirec has been running strong for almost 10 years.

Not a good review.Wheres the clean channel tones. Can you play nothing but that noisey guitar crunch stuff which has no musical quality. The only thing thats messy is what your doing on that guitar. I don't think anyone would buy this amp based on this lacklustre review.
