When you need to have absolute confidence in the quality of your axles and how they'll perform out on the trail, few companies can give you the kind of peace of mind that Dynatrac can! Their ProRock 60 axles are legendary, made 100% here in the U.S.A and engineered entirely with new off the shelf components that are designed to work flawlessly together and without the need to use recycled, refurbished or salvaged parts from junkyard axles. Of course, the ProRock 60 is also the only axle with a profiled differential that offers well over an inch of ground clearance and to top it off, Dynatrac is the only company that I know of that offers a no-fault warranty so long as you properly service and maintain your axles.
Needless to say, when it came time for us to upgrade the front axle in our 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler that some of you know as Moby, there was no question what axle we wanted to get. Fortunately for us, Dynatrac was kind enough to invite us down to their manufacturing facility in Huntington Beach, CA and see how our ProRock 60 front axle would be made from start to finish. After watching this short video, you just might want one too!

@Frdmstang i upgraded the locker to an arb and installed a set of 35 spline shafts. i also had to install wheel adapters so that i could run 5x5.5 bolt patern wheels.

@rickyp32 the axle tubes are pressed into the center section and i'm pretty sure that alone is pratically enough to hold everything in place. the "plug" or rosette (NOT spot) welds ensure they won't.

@rickyp32 i think if they had fully welded up the centre to the tubes it would have made the axle potentially weaker as the heat from the welding would effect the metallurgy of the tubes & also act as a stress riser

As this is an old video I trust you have updated your welding procedure for those 4340 tubes. Pre and post heat is a must.

The axle tubes aren't 4340, they are DOM. The axle shafts are 4340.

@rickyp32 they did 6 plug welds. plug welds are very affective. turning the amperage/voltage up high so you get good penetration. When ever they sleeve and axle they use plug welds....

@braaup oh, you could say that. depending on the kind of shafts you get, u-joints, type of locker and things like that, you could be looking at about $10k or more.

Is the Dynatrac 44 a lot better than than the stock dana 44? and would the dynatrac 44 support 37's or should you still get 60's? And last question, do you need to do anything extra to the dynatrac axels to make them support 37's like gussets or is that just something you do with the stock axels?

Did you have to go from shift on the fly to manual lockers with this new differential, or is there an option to maintain the ability to shift on the fly with the Dynatrac?

@WillDaBeast696969 depends on how big of a tire you are hoping to run and how hard you plan on wheeling your jeep.

the dynatrac prorock 44 is a lot better than a stock 44 and no, you wouldn't need to do anything extra with it to run 37's

How many times did you break your dana44 before you got the 60? How well did it hold up to the tires you were running (I believe they were 40s)? I've got dana44 with yukon chromoly and I'm running 38 inch crawlers and I'm always worried that I will break them on the trail and be screwed. Thank you!

You have no idea what you are talking about.There is no such thing as a spot weld. The axle tubes are pressed and plug welded with .045 ER70s MIG. And they arent going anywhere.

An impact wrench should never ever be used to torque the "pinion" bearing. The damage to the bearing races are imminent, you will never see this in a Dana-Spicer videos. Dynatrac should know better than that.
@ryanfreeman125
@ryanfreeman125 6 жыл бұрын
lol no. The torque needed is way more than that impact can give. He torqued it by hand with a torq wrench which they didnt show. good catch tho young feller
