Hi guys! I'm stoked on the amount of positive comments, thank you. And I'm also stoked on how many of you find ispiration in these videos to continue your engineering/tech career. That is excatly how it started for me, 13 or so years ago. For this reason I'm setting up a page on my website for you to download all the material I'm producing for the MR-GST. And I'm also changing my IG page and KZbin channel from "DriveTherapy" to something like "[REDACTED] Racing" for the lols You'll get another announcement when all is up and running, thank you!

The channel that got me into the “modding” aspect cars like 10 years ago, before that I knew that I liked cars, and I knew I liked hot rods and things like that but it wasn’t until I saw their 240sx drift car build and some of their other oddball projects that I fell in love with this aspect of car culture. I learned the power of turbo from them too

Because it is giveaway car and you don't know which state the car ends up in, soo i think its good idea to use some rust prevention stuff inside frame rale "block off plates" and some other places where moisture can get to
@_Gingium_
@_Gingium_ 2 жыл бұрын
A bit late for the frame plates now but I will keep this in mind for future metal lol. I'll make sure the frame plates are water tight so no moisture gets in there.

I’m kind of surprised this is a giveaway car in the first place, if anything I think he should really keep it. It seems like this is one of those builds that you get a crazy idea for and you perfect that idea over a long period of time. Otherwise I feel like it might just turn into some project that gets handed to the next person that might not nearly be as invested into it mentally as Caleb was in the first place.

This initially seemed a bit pointless if I am honest. So many cars already in the rear engine rear drive configuration. But now I see the huge benefit to you - once you have done this you will have a massively better understanding of chassis design. You will be able to take on almost any car and redesign the suspension. That is huge.

Sucks about running out of gas. A good way to get around that is to have two sets of whatever you need, so when one runs out you can keep going with the redundant tank and just add a replacement to your shopping list. That assumes you have the room to spare for it ofc.

I asked on the last videos about the fuel tank and the fuel level in it. Does it change the weight distribution and does it make significant difference in weighting and making the suspension? Would you make all the calculations after the engine is mounted in the rear? Will you relocate the fuel tank to the front?
@StanleyKubick1
@StanleyKubick1 2 жыл бұрын
pretty sure the fuel tank would make the most sense in the frunk-to-be. 13 gallons of gas is about 100lbs with the tank, so it matters for weight distribution
@thomashayhurst6547
@thomashayhurst6547 2 жыл бұрын
Putting the fuel tank in the front does sound like a good idea on paper but in practice not so much. There's quite a few horror stories about the lamborghini miura becoming uncontrollable at high speeds on low fuel loads because it's tank was in the front.
@_Gingium_
@_Gingium_ 2 жыл бұрын
Yes fuel level does change the weight distribution and make a difference when making the suspension, but its not much. The fuel tank will indeed be mounted in the front. Hopefully right in front of the firewall over the subframe. Not the most ideal location but there is no where else for it to go lol.
