Izzy Woods I don’t know about America but here in Australia we trust a law enforcers not in a safety sense but in the belief of a appropriate verdict. We are nowhere near as harsh as America with no death penalty and the our life sentence equating to 20yrs but we still give those guilty of crimes of the sexual nature actual jail time. It may just be around 5-10 yrs but we allow them to feel some of the life alterations their victims feel I certainly do find the American Justice system FLAWED but I would argue the Korean justice system is just as FLAWED despite being the polar opposite Although public trust and safety is ESSENTIAL, so is APPROPRIATE JUSTICE

in finland we have the same problem. life sentence is about 15 years, but first timers get half of it(with any crime), so fucking stupid. (TW, r*pe) the r*pists get away with couple months in prison even tho predator has 5 victims, there was a case with a 60yr-old m*lesting 5 kids aged 8-11yo. he only got 8 months. I think part of the reason why a lot of people know the names of the Day6 members is because most of them (actually all of them if you count Dowoon singing a few lines in some of their songs) sing. They don't have just one lead singer and some backing vocals like other bands do (nothing wrong with that though)

Of FT Island, CNBLUE, N.Flying, Day6 and The Rose, I know all their names, yet if I wouldn't listen to their music I might not know all of them. But for example all CNBLUE members acted in several dramas including major roles and thereby kinda made a name for themselfs. N.Fyling's guitarist Hyun and drummer Jaehyun started a KZbin channel and gain their own popularity in that way. Jae also has his KZbin channel although not much is happening there lately. So there are ways for each member to shine on their own even as part of a band.

The actual Burning Sun scandal was a group of women going to the police to report they were drugged and rapped at the Burning Sun Club by VIP members (very powerful very rich businessmen). Media with one particular journalist and the forefront, turned the BS scandal into a real BS medial deflection tactic. They focused on these idols and a group chat that had nothing to do with women being raped. They pushed this narrative, Kpop fans got involved and further blew it up. The actual Burning Sun rape victims never got justice. The manager that supplied the drugs got community service. The VIP members/rapists were never mentioned therefore most likely never prosecuted. So most of that is to blame on the Kpop fans. They kept the spotlight on the wrong thing and the real criminals were able to fade into the background. Had they put that same energy toward the real Burning Sun victims and Jang Ja Yeon things would be different.

I just bought my switch and animal crossing today! I live in the US, and the target i work at stocked about 5 switches this morning (grey and red/blue consoles, sadly no ac ones)! I took a 15 break and bought one and by the time my shift ended they were all sold out. They didnt get ACNH in though so i had to do a pick up order at GameStop. This whole drama wasn't exactly that big of a deal in the first place, so I doubt that either of the runners of DK news were going to upload a video a few days earlier over a famous person being insensitive. It's happened millions of times before, it's nothjng new. I just think you're trying to pin a lot of blame on them for simply commentating on the news like they do all the time. The Burning Sun Scandal is, objectively, a worse scandal. But it has been going on for months, and nohody with an actual brain is going to say "omg stop bringjng it up, it happened like, years ago". They bring it up multiple times, because it's important and relevant, even though it happened quite a while ago. You act like what happened was years ago. At most, it was a week ago, and that certainly doesn't mean that they can't commentate on it, or bring it up. They weren't insulting him, or being overly rude, and if you seriously think a thumbnail matters more than the actual ckntents of the video, your sense of priority is a bit skewed.
