Have a ‘23 Performance, couldn’t get the Shark Grey and black in April only could get a Shark Grey with the light blue interior in a ‘24 model. The most recent update has made things a lot better. The three finger gestures are great and the wireless CarPlay is helpful but I’ve noticed it drains the iPhones battery way more than when it was wired. So hope there’s an update for that. The ICC seems to be getting incrementally better with the last two updates. Not sure if it will ever be to the standard of our ‘21 BMW G20 340i auto driving. It was amazing, but it’s def not bad. Hoping the iPhone drain is sorted and the ICC gets better with each update as well. Hoping the updates continue on a regular basis with upgrades to the app as well which is pretty functional as is. Really enjoying the car so far. One oddity was we came out the other morning and noticed BOTH interior vanity mirrors were shattered. Bringing it to BYD to have it fixed, hopefully under warranty, but we shall see. A very odd occurrence that both shattered on the same night (very cold night). Hopefully they can upgrade the cable component to be compatible with the Telsa V3 and V4 chargers at the same time.

Wireless charging making the phones super hot and can’t keep up with charging, especially if you run android auto or apple car play. AC settings defaults after turning the car off and can’t remember your settings. Fast charging throttles early (as low as 30%) because the battery gets to hot. Packing the car and kerping the frunk or boot open more than 10-15 min the car goes in to deep sleep and everything turns of..you can’t even close the boot. Turning of the auto dimming of the screens only affect the big screen. Repeaters suddenly stops sounding. This car feels abit rushed …
@BeYonD-EV4 ай бұрын
If you run android Auto/Carplay and use the phone for anything else, it gets hot. If you just normally wirelessly charge your phone on any wireless charger without doing anything, it gets hot. Combine these 2 together and it will get hot. This is not so much a negative of the car, but a negative of modern phone design. Everything else is software and can be addressed with OTA. With everything running through the software, saved settings for certain things will be missed. But would be perfectly normal to add over time as people request it.

@@zoomzoom9999 Yeah but getting so hot the sammy turned off without android auto is strange. Alot of my points in the comments come from a month with the car. @BeYonD-EV4 ай бұрын
@@davidolsson Is your phone connected to the car via bluetooth while charging? Or is AA conencted while charging even though you are not using AA? If so, that uses processing power and generates heat. Wireless charging at home will get it warm, but rarely hot because at home the phone generally sits on the charger not connected to anything or doing anything else. Heat is definately a phone issue, not a car issue. It is one of, if not the main reason why phone batteries degrade so much after 3-5 years and EV batteries don't. Phones don't have active cooling to regulate battery temperature, EV's do.

@@maxhugen I recommend you watch a video titled *'The EV Detroit is dying to Benchmark - BYD Seagull'* Caresoft is an American company that provides engineering consultancy to US automakers. They imported and tore down a BYD Seagull, BYDs cheapest EV that sells for $11,000. They got it in to learn how it is made and to sell that data to US automakers. If you want a completely unbiased view of what's under the bonnet of BYD EVs and how they make quality cars at such a good price, that is a good starting point, as Caresofts entire business is tearing down and analysing how cars are manufactured. Swiss bank UBS tasked their research analysts to do the same thing carsoft did, but with my car, the BYD Seal, and tear it down to see how it was made...but UBS's aim was to report on it from a economic perspective to see how Chinese EVs would effect the European car manufacturing market. You have to pay for the report but the they say the same thing but it more detail, they are quality. Even without subsidies, just looking at how it was made they have accounted that BYD has a 25% cost advantage due to their vertical integration and manufacturing methods. They estimate that they make 16% gross margin and 5% after EBIT. BYD are the real deal, they are not an LDV or a Great Wall from 10 years ago.
