If you ever knock your opponent off stage. Neutral air and up air are great tools. Too make sure your opponents don't make it back. You'll want your back facing your opponent before up air though.

This reminds me of Kirby's hammer ledge trapping. Covers basically every option except for jump, but jump can be read by the Kirby, so basically Kirby covers every option.

Honestly id think so to. Jumping off and reacting to them going low with side b/reacting to high with upb seems super deadly. Though since this setup just requires you to get with 2 platform lengths of the ledge 20 frames befoee they grab the ledge (and this character is slow), I could see it come up allot even if objectively worse

One thing Iike doing as Byleth is going to the ledge and doing a reverse down-b. It hits above (which covers jump) and it covers rolls. If the opponent rolls and shields, you get an instant shield break.

People say Byleth isn't that good but I disagree. Excellent ledgetrapping, excellent killpower, good low percent combos and strings, very good frame traps, excellent juggling, some of the best disjoints in the game, very good recovery, and a projectile (which is good regardless of what people say as you can cancel out of it and it destroys people when they're off stage.) Also, Byleth can do some amazing reverse edgeguarding with up B (when opponent is above 50%).

Honestly the best way to treat online is as a place for MU experience. That’s really all it’s good for. Lag makes it feel like a different game, and there are all sorts of things that works online but not offline because you can’t react to anything, and getting punishes is also much harder than usual.

Nick P If you ledge jump they have to read it, and you could go for an option like ledge jump neutral air dodge as well, they’d have to read that and delay when they let the forward smash go

@@anthonyjeong5497 Well, since you will release the lance on reaction when your opponent does anything, it will take too long for the smash to come out while the ledgetrapped char has already faded back. Haven´t tested it yet but ran into pretty much the same scenario (online, so worse reaction time, but still). Pretty sure that you can circumvent this specifically with gun from ledge as well by cancelling his fsmash.

I've been doing this and sadly Every time the opponent sheild and I get punished, so I just try to go for fair and bair. Bair especially since its very strong. Maybe I had my spacing wrong? Maybe because I always angled it down it make it worse on sheild? Beats me lol

When I first checked 2frame options on release I randomed into ganondorf (notoriously low hang) and he avoids the angled down fsmash. Only thing that hits him hanging is spaced dsmash and air sideB

Other way around. Byleth is horribly slow and without online lag, you can just play around her hitboxes and juggle Byleth to death for free. In Online, Byleth plays like Ganon, with slow but huge hitboxes you can just throw out and hope people run in to them.
