I think what’s fashionable is subjective. When I went to Europe I saw people who I thought were dressed fashionably but not necessarily to my taste for myself. Lots of dark colors whereas people where I’m from are more into pastels and brights. Lot more pattern fabrics. I’m what’s called a girly girl so my style is more dainty than what I mostly saw in Europe. To give an example in high school my style was similar to like the girls in Clueless and Mean Girls. Now I’m older I’m a more mature version of it. I’m more heeled sandals and boots. Sun dresses and sweater dresses. A long flowy skirt. Different people are different but I think a lot European women are more plain in their fashion look.

Then the alt 6 which has Eurasia as one and North and South America as two difference being North America only consists of USA and Canada. Which is mostly Russia Eastern Europe and I believe Japan. Then you have the 7 which is ThecUaSA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, China, Pakistan, India, the Philippines and more. @johnbattle7518
@johnbattle7518 Жыл бұрын
@@lukecole5056 We call ourselves Americans for a reason and it has nothing to do with arrogance. I can see your Z gen by your utter hatred for American views. But okay I'll explain. North America or Laurasia was once part of Pangaea. was once connected to Europe. South America or Gondwana was once connected to Africa. Those is evident by fossils found on both European and North American continents as well as Africa and Skuth American continents. Eventually Laurasia and Gondwana connected at the isthmus of Panama making them two separate bodies of land that someday will disconnect and again be separated. As for calling ourselves Americans, that's more of a late 19th century practice based on the words used to describe the country. When the colonists first gained their indpendance from Great Britian the intention wasn't to have a singular country like let's say Brazil, Japan or France. Instead it was 13 distinct countries loosely connected by a weak central government meant to hold a loose union together in case war ever took place and the weak infant nation needed to rally together in order to protect it. So the articles of confederation was created which failed horribly. States fought over everything from taxes to training routes borders and laws. So the founding fathers created a stronger federal government or union that had broader powers than the articles of confederation. Still the government was limited and states rights were pretty much the power of each state until the Civil War. Early Americans had state loyalty first and foremost over national loyalty. For example Confederate general Robert E. Lee didn't resign his commission from the United States army until Virginia seceded from the Union on April 17 1861. Other officers and former West Point graduates likewise didn't resign until their stats left the Union. So basically loyalty was state region country. For example, if you took three men one from japan another from France and another from America and asked each one where they were from the Frenchman would tell you I am from France. Likewise the Japanese man would tell you he was Japanese whereas the American would tell you I'm from the great state of Virginia. It wasn't until the Spanish American War when the USA became a world power that a sense of national loyalty became the norm followed by WWI some 18 years later which was the first overseas war we fought. So basically we didn't call ourselves Americans until late 19th century and arrogance had nothing to do with it. It was the only name left after the evolution of the countries make up. Think of early America not as the United States of America but states United under a small federal government. The Civil War decided wich was more powerful, the federal government or the individual state. Since the federal government won the war to the victor goes the spoils.

After watching this video, it really shows that people forget that America is made up 50 states and several territories that are really their own thing, not just New York and California. So, of course, that in itself is very close-minded. I can also understand why they would only focus on the aforementioned places because that's all they hear about, besides their own personal interests. American music comes from the south, while each state has their own style of food and way of doing things.

@@Mrsuperdestroyer Not sure of what argument you're trying to start, friend, but I promise your shady attack on other people's intelligence is not welcome in the slightest. So, please allow me to tear you a new one. Don't know what I'm referring to? Look it up. "I" am very aware that other countries have states and "I" am also aware our country is not unique for doing so. That's you making the claim. China has provinces, Japan has prefectures, and India has states. Big deal? I'm speaking entirely about how other countries are unaware that New York and California do NOT define what it's like to be in America because our states are not the same DESPITE BEING IN THE SAME REGION!!! Florida is more like Northern states even though it's apart of the southern states. Texas, California, and Alaska are practically countries within a country because they are huge. Tennessee has more in common with the Midwest than the south but southern states are friendlier than the east and west. EACH STATE HAS SOMETHING THAT MAKES THEM UNIQUE, which is the point I made earlier. Actually, your comment is generalizing Americans as being unaware, which is not really helping whatever point you're trying to make. You cannot use my personal comment as an assumption that all Americans think as I do nor can you say comments like mine provide any evidence towards your claim of Americans being ignorant that other countries, besides ours, India, Pakistan, etc., have states. I don't know your English level nor nationality nor do I care but you need to think before you speak and learn what an opinion means. Don't like my comments like mine, then just keep scrolling.

And also the OP mentioned we have territories. Territories are not states yet the narrative in the responses were “you’re not the only ones who have states” not you’re not the only ones with states and territories which is also true. There are other countries with territories but to my knowledge Germany isn’t one of them. A person born in Guam which is in Oceania is just as much American as someone born in Texas because they have US citizenship but culturally they will be vastly different. I think that’s the point the OP is making because some people have a narrow view of who an “American” is. The major difference is the territories can’t vote in presidential elections unless they move to a state. They also don’t have representation in the US Senate. But for example people from Puerto Rico, don’t need passports or immigration approval to travel or move from the islands or any of the US states because they are citizens.

I am not trying to generalise like all americans are rich people with excessive money to flex, but at least they are lucky enough to be born in a developed country with relative good standards of living and okay incomes. Consider some african, south east asian, or indian subcontinent countries, where many people still get salaries lower than 500 USD per month to make ends meet, sometimes to even feed a huge family. In those poorer countries, it would literally cost an arm and a leg to buy those branded items as mentioned, as their prices are almost fixed worldwide, but the people's local currency and salary level won't change. 😂 It might cost you one month's salary to buy an LV handbag, but it would cost those people salary of 1 year just to own one. After all, worldwide GDP per capita figures won't lie even if they might not be 100% accurate.

Americans love other countries, we love freedom, we love joy, we love for people to be happy and love our country… as should all non-Americans… freakin love your country and don’t be ashamed. I think what you might not know (in a very typically american fashion) is that while in America it’s not always well perceived politics with public you met, its not the same in every culture. In France for instance talking politics is a very common topic. By having non American people asking you about it they probably are trying to show you they are familiar with your country and try to find something familiar for you to talk about. Obviously its not good enough for you, an American… 🤣

Answering to the title of this video: yes, of course. The same as if you'd ask about any other nationality. Making friends is not about nationality but about every individual regardless of which country you're from. About fashion I think the majority of US citizens like to dress in a casual way most of the time. I'm European, I've travelled to several countries and I've noticed the different fashion styles. Most Europeans usually know how to dress depending on the situation. We don't go with our gym clothes everywhere if we are not going to do some exercise. If we go to see a play in the theatre we dress a little bit better or if we are having a date, an interview, a special event, etc. I don't think US citizens dress bad. I just think the majority of times for a European it looks that they don't put any effort to separate different events. In Europe we are not going all the time dressed like if we were gonna stay at home or going to the gym. We usually differentiate between different kind of situations and dress accordingly. So I think it's basically a cultural thing. I'm not saying it's bad the way they usually dress but just different. Probably this doesn't apply to New Yorkers and some places in the US where most people do really make an effort and dress accordingly also depending on the season. But in most of the country I'd say the fashion consists in just dressing casual regardless of the situation which it's a no no in most European countries.

The whole point and way of the video is quite provocative and unfortunately most of the non-americans failed in representing theirselves quite well. In other Cut videos as well. I mean, as an european, I think except for the korean dude and the american girl, the others are quite narrow-minded. Geography knowledge is no better ability than being respectful, thoughtful, kind and understanding of others and of different situations you're in. And my opinion for americans, knowing that it's not right to make assumptions and generalizations, is that they are way more thoughtful and respectful to non-americans, than it's the other way around. Which makes them the better people in my eyes Fashionwise again I think they are way better than many of the people who know zero about fashion, but yeah, they are from Italy and France, hence automatically they are better... You also have to know how to respect cultural differences, in Latin countries, respect is about sincerity, saying things, even if it's unpleasant, the Anglo-Saxons prefer above all not to offend, and therefore tend to smile whatever it happens or to exaggerate to avoid embarassement, this way of being, this "American respect" is what Latin Europeans perceive as hypocrisy, so a disrespectful way, on the contrary the Anglo Saxons perceive Latin honesty as hardness, pride or lack of respect. French and Italian are not rude, they say what they think, American and Brits are not fake, they express to better appreciate. SO MANY states in America have different types of people, different fashion, different sub-cultures of how they've grown up. This just showed me these Europeans latch onto stereotypes for benefit or harm like toxic highschoolers man. I hope it was due to their age, sheesh! Maybe it could be from the Americans they meet. They're not meeting the average person. A young person who can travel to Europe is considered pretty privileged. The fashion they described was NOT AT ALL accurate 😅🤣😂, so offensive, they just described middle aged tourists fits. Why is it they don't know anything about modern Americans' culture? America is the size of European countries combined, so of course we are going to have news centered around ALL 50 states. It's not the fault of the American people that most of those countries are small and closely connected to each other. I'm sure it's the same for Russia, India and China being very huge countries. Not to mention Europe doesn't export as much news as America. Plus we have so much to be concerned about within our own borders. And if America was so self-centered we as a nation wouldn't care about whatever is happening to others i.e. Ukraine and Taiwan. Lastly a lot of countries keep their media closed off to the US. @@senorita9107 yeah idk who you are talking too from America, I will go as far to say that majority of Americans are politically obsessed. You cant get through most family gatherings here without a lot of political arguments.

I can confirm, here in México when I see an US people the most of Time they're dressed just with a t-shirt and shorts, sneakers and Socks and even with just flip flops on street and I say WTF? This is not the beach you know 😅 and I realized that they don't care their appereance at all, It's like they just wake up, get up from their bed, and they go out even just with pajama 😮‍💨

Hey World Friends, it’s time for you guys to start spreading “Americans” as people who are from the American continent, not just for those who are from the USA. There are 35 plus countries in the American continent. ✌🏻

By all means, introduce everyone from the western hemisphere as an "American." We'll see how long that lasts before massive confusion and resentment sets in. I give it 30 seconds.
