Remember when the controversy was “Kanye is having a rough divorce and is being toxic to Kim. He needs some help. Kanye’s not doing so good and he’s not being the best person.” To “Kanye is a literal fucking nazi and completely deranged.” Kanye’s fall in the 2020’s has honestly been really sad given that in the 2000s, similar to chance, he was an innovator who brought a new image to hip hop that hadn’t been seen before, and now he’s well…Kanye.

Chance had a really cool rise to fame, starting out as just a kid making mixtapes. Sure, the hype surrounding him was maybe a bit much, but the talent and influence was there. I remember listening to Acid Rap when it dropped, and I loved it. His flow and charisma on the mic was unlike anything I ever heard at that point, even if the album didn’t age as gracefully as I had hoped. Coloring Book absolutely deserved the praise and hype surrounding it and I stand by it being one of the best projects of the 2010’s. This new release is actually a big coincidence for me because I recently commented on your newest “Let’s Argue” video mentioning Chance’s possible comeback. I thought the Big Day was a bad album, but I definitely think the hate surrounding it was blown out of proportion. It’s really sad how everyone turned so sour on Chance after only one bad album, and I don’t blame him for being so cautious about releasing a new project. I think the singles he has sporadically released throughout the 2020’s thus far have been great, so I’m hoping for a continuation of that sound and style. Best of wishes to Chance
