“Our personality is our personal reality” That line really hit me. As someone who is going into their mid 20s it’s crazy to think I have all this time ahead of me and this is the best time to make a change. Going into the unknown scares me but what scares me more is being in the same headspace 5, 10, 20 years from now. Seeing videos like this definitely inspire me to challenge my own ideals and fight against my own thoughts/patterns.

I'm 44 and I can tell you that if you are in your 20s and are already self aware and seeking truth, you will have many, many epiphanies and awakenings. I recently went through some shit and I'm not the same person I was a month ago. Hell, if I met me from 10 years ago, I would be disgusted.

From my experience, I can tell you a few things - be brave to try and do things, don't worry so much about mistakes. Give everyone and everything a chance with an open mind. Look at things with humor and on the positive side, love wholeheartedly...but most importantly : live free from politics, all of the media (social too) constant advertising and manipulation on everything

For someone who’s approaching 50 I can guarantee you won’t be in the same head space in 5 years. And you won’t in the same head space 5 years after those 5 years lol. However when you get older the changes come slower but the years come faster. Hope that makes sense.

I agree. As a former alcoholic of 40 years, trapped in the AA cycle of hearing the words drink, drank, and, drunk for one hour each night at meetings, God blessed me with the knowledge of forgetting the past. Of staying away from those meetings. Quite literally, I was able to stop with awareness. When the feelings came up to drink I would arrest the thought immediately. Before it took hold. Before it was engaged. I stopped hanging around with the recovering. I stopped hanging around with the addicted. I started hanging around with the normal. Those who could drink without any consequences. Those who could take it or leave it. The thoughts would come and were instantly squashed by forgetting them. Arresting them. Today, a decade later, I can sit in a restaurant with all those colorful pretty bottles on the shelves and not even notice they are there. Awareness of thought was my cure. It works for every mental malady I encounter.

I had a very similar experience after finding JD's work. AA saved my life, not only doing the steps but having identity with others that were destructive in their drinking or in my case completely fucking insane but by rehashing my past it was keeping me there and so was the craving to drink. Constantly addressing "I am an addict" was keeping me as an addict (I mean we are all addicts to something - just some of us to harmful things). My life completely changed and I started being accountable for myself. I actually relapsed over the festive break and I queried going back to a 12 step programme - however they are REALLY depressing where my parents are so I got back into JDs work and I haven't drunk in 9 days and any tests/urges that come up I can soothe them

The only way to get rid of negative thoughts is to understand them completely. When you have a negative thought ask yourself why your having the thought. Did someone trigger it? did something trigger it? How did the thought make you feel? The objective is to view your thoughts as objetively as possible. Theres always something proactive you can do about it, sometimes the only solution is realizing that your not the problem. My grandmother sometimes says " just pay no mind to it ", I love my gram dearly but i disagree. Pay mind to everything and a passive awareness manner. If its not harming you physically then your still in full control. This is the only way to personal enlightment. I dont mean to sound like a know it all and share this information with you with much love.

I no we have our own power within ourselves. No one can make those choices only the human being ourselves. That's why there's so much evil on earth. This is Hell on earth. Its bought about by everyone's own free will and bad choices. Look within ur self's not something we call God. Man makes his own choices to do good or evil.

I've heard that our brains reuse the same chemistry that worked last time, thus creating patterns of thought that ultimately conserves energy. It's also a pattern used to learn anything by adding to and refining the cognitive patterns. We get in the groove, so to speak, and dig out our beliefs deeper and deeper.

Some other great lines from this interview, not in this excerpt, were that "People are becoming commodities now" and "The way you control people's choices is by controlling their emotions. People, by their nature, want to connect, want a community ... People do the best with what they think is available." I'm especially interested in Joe's discoveries not just for healing the body but for healing the body politic. He makes it clear that things happen in mysterious ways and the mystery is on our side.

Gotta stop all thoughts through meditation. Place your focus on one thing and one thing only and return your focus back to that, while ridding your mind of thoughts by being aware that your mind slipped into unconscious thought and by returning to the present moment. That is how you eliminate the chatter in the mind.

I've been watching the other channel. This was awesome and I've subscribed. I'm 63 and when I was younger I took an awesome self-awakening course, but then in life made a series of choices to help others (taking care of my parents) that also caused sacrifice of self and constrained who I am. Now I am trying to reclaim myself, as it were, and I am so disconnected and lost compared to how I once was. It is like I have given away my sense of self, but not in a good way. I am far too disconnected and I also feel I have little time left in life for such a monumental personal journey. But it is the only thing I can do as I hate lying to myself about myself and hate being numbed down. Thank you for putting this channel out there.

I would suggest, deep in the psyche of people experiencing overthinking or sadness, depression etc, that there are some deep charges lurking. The Hindu tradition called these samskaras. Our personality(s) form off the back of these charges and other influences. Meditation is one of the main ways of addressing those deep charges. it is a deep, profound work.

I am aware I still get caught up in thought loops, in early recovery I had to play psychological tricks on myself, for every time I caught myself in an "I can't" or "I need" loop I replaced it with the opposite and repeated it three times, it may have been one of Joe's books where I read that 28 days is all it takes to rewire your brain programming, consistency is key, the philosophy I subscribe to is allow the thought to pass acknowledge and observe not to resist, I find that approach brings up important messages up for me in meditation. If repeating thought loops occur these days I always ask what the root of the thought is, if you can identify the root it is easier to break the loop 💜

That's awesome. I heard basically the same thing from Dr. Caroline Leaf. She says to do this meditation for 13min every day, and explains the physical nature of thoughts (neuro pathways) in the brain, whether toxic or healthy, and how/why consistency of this practice is key as well. 21 days I think before anything is permanent (if you stop it dissolves and returns to the old unconscious triggers/more worn neuro pathways), and I think something like 28 days to solidify the new triggers. Awesome to hear another source confirm this. :)

Him & his research teams have done wonders of quantifying the results of the practice & how we do effect change in us be accessing deeper states within us & around us, we are connected to a greater force the source of everything material. Iv been on 3 retreats of his & intend to go on many more, they are game changers been in the presence & energy of so many people practicing together & inspiring each other with the incredible results of meditation. I just listened to the entire interview yesterday on Luminary, and it was one of my favorites. I truly respect and adore this man!!! Well, both of you actually! 😄. I'm saving up to attend one of Joe's workshops... I know being in that space with others and having a solid block of dedicated time will make all the difference in making a large leap in progress... and I am ready for it! Giving each individual human our power back is such a crucial message at this time. Thank you Russel!! 🙏🙏

Yes Russ, thanks. All your videos are great mate. I moved from Tunbridge Wells to New Zealand 9 years ago, and my biggest challenge in life now is feeling like I didn't curse this paradise with my English ways!!! I can't believe the tyranny that has unfolded in New Zealand, its like a smile as everything is taken away and a lady nods and says "it's for your own good, trust me. You don't like autonomy, and freedom isn't real. You want to be lead", it reminds me how ingrained it is in my upbringing, to accept that or become angry, sad, wreckless. You give me focus to believe in the reasons I came here..... Even tho I have been totally severed from the society I wish to embrace based on all the same centralised shit that weighed me down back home. This interview is fantastic, and makes me more than I was before I heard these words. Again, thanks mate, Iv enjoyed all your media through the years, and now, for you to offer this to me reminds me of why I'm proud of who I am, a lad from near London, life long Spurs fan, seeker of equity in spirit, body and environment. I am not alone.

The reason Suffering has been associated with Salvation is exactly the point being made in this video. To reach that lowest part of one's life is to be immersed in darkness. From darkness comes light. As a person who grew up in a "religious" home, I have been able to recognize the true intention of it's scripture in the same context being discussed here. The world around us(the physical surroundings) is a place where the inner man manifests it's Self. When we attach our Self to what we see in this world, we are risking attaching our Identity to the dysfunctions which manifest from others. But, if we are to recognize that our mind is a temple of Righteousness, where we must be cognizant of what we allow into it, we shall he more aware of the clutter which causes us to stumble. It is said that the Kingdom of |God| is withIN you. Whatever your |God| is, your identity shall be based upon that foundation. If your |God| is Love, then you shall be whole; because Love is the one thing which is never changing.

While we are on the subject,Id like to also say the term " Self pity " should be stricken from the record and sent back to its origin. If one cannot have some sympathies for their own self, how can they sympathize with others ?
@Templestone
@Templestone 2 жыл бұрын
@@christinebradshaw9377 If one is kept from exploring their own self, then there is a problem. If having self pity is a means which gets some to that place, how can it be a bad thing? There are many ideas which have been adopted by the masses which need to be questioned. Questioning them is a necessary part of finding the true self; the one Identity who is based upon it's own unique experience. Mental chaos comes from claiming our Identity is an amalgamation of those ideals which we are told to accept without confirmation by our perspective, thus, it causes a reaction by a repelling force which the mind knows does not belong. By overthinking, our attempts at justifying our beliefs, without question, is like pushing a square into a round. It is the very fault of opinions, today. Thanks for reading and responding and questioning.🙂

A lot of people cannot escape these neurological pathways in their brain it becomes too comfortable to just do the same thing over and over again. A lot of people can find major help with this topic by engaging in a LSD trip taking at least two tabs and drinking a bottle of wine to activate the subconscious. This is the true ritual of Jesus Christ. The bread that they put on their tongue had a fungus growing on it this causes psychedelic effects just like LSD... The alcohol helps let go of your singularity this will open up tunnel vision and you can move to the back of your brain. The hardest part about life is self-control learning to drink alcohol while under the influence of acid is challenging you must keep track of how much you have consumed for it's very hard to tell. This is why I usually only get a bottle of wine because wine is the only original recipe... Get a Cabernet Sauvignon you're trying to create new neurological pathways while in fisheye mode which is the back of your brain which is the subconscious once you create these neurological connections while doing the substance when you come down those connections will still exist. LSD rewires your entire brain you have to be in a mindset ready to take on the shamanistic existence while doing this though you don't just want to do this willy-nilly... You wake up early in the morning first light is when you start... It is important to drink alcohol preferably wine even if it's not very much just a slight bit. Tried to dance and have fun from the very beginning enjoy the waves Of time hitting you speeding up then slowing down... Watch all the complexity of the world around you break down into simplistic mathematical fractals. Did you know all metals are magnetic I have a design for a magnet that can isolate every single types of metal including but not limited to gold... This will increase the recycling efficiencies of this planet and make it so more people can enjoy this place once we minimize the needless suffering of existence. I am a soul-time traveler who took over this body that was prematurely abandoned by natural earth-born soul. Would love to chat or be on the podcast.... Hmu "Russell Brand"

I had to pause and immediately write down the line "Our personality is our personal reality" because of how much that hit me. Often lately I feel I'm living out the definition of insanity, in that of "continuing to do the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result". I truly needed to hear that, so thank you.

Joe is absolutely the best thing that ever happened for humanity. The triad of him and Dr Lipton and another person, have absolutely carved THE PATH that anyone and everyone needs to follow to become the healthy enlightened being they were meant to be. The research alone is magnificient, but the insights that led to the reasearch, that led to the cure are inspired. If anyone thinks there is no God, then let them research the paths of these three people from the beginning of their careers. The synchronicity is shocking, almost unbelievable, but then their contribution to the improvement of mankinds angst and illness is a once in a millenia event. The understanding we have gained in meditation alone, the quantum physics of meditation, the reproducible energy healing of yourself, the science of thought and personality and how to change your very being, all of that just from these three connecting. Believe in yourself, and do the work, you will not be disappointed.

I feel like I want to hear more. I've been thinking about self awareness and having an insight. Changing the behavior. The power of subtlety. The art of kindness in action. Walking away from moments charged by negative energy from somebody else who resonates with hostility,or selfish control issues. Maintaining my values, peace and kindness.not getting depressed because of how difficult it can be living in a recovery house. The moments of so called conflict give rise for opportunity to become aware. To grow. But I'm learning that it is not always true for some people. Perception effects everything!! Humility, compassion, willingness. Recognizing that in some instances there may be individuals who rain on other people, for some reason,they are brutal. Dealing with the sadness in recognizing that there isn't anything to do but limit interaction. Be kind. Respect where they are and not let it get me down.

I think that meditation can be whatever you want it to be. When I was 19 or 20 and the next few years after, I settled on what meditation was FOR ME!!! It's different for each of us because WE ARE DIFFERENT!!! My form of meditation I do on a daily basis and it doesn't require sitting down and calming my mind. I focus my mind on my body. I can do this at any time during the day, whether I'm in the middle of something big or doing nothing at all, I focus my mind to basically step back and "scan" my body looking for anything foreign or anything harmful, anything destructive or unnatural that may be doing me harm or causing me to age faster or the BIG ONE, causing me to fall into a pattern that is bad or will be bad for me. I do an unconscious scan of myself daily to see where I need to focus some of my daily conscious thoughts and or behavior to correct an issue that could, will or has become an issue with how I want to be. I may be crazy but I think it has worked for me. 1st of all, I'm 46 and I still get told almost daily I look 26, I have virtually no problems with becoming an addict of anything I don't want to be(that may sound ridiculous as well but it's worked! I've smoked cigarettes for almost 30 years yet if I have none it doesn't bother me in the slightest!!!) While most of the people I know have been cut down by addiction or cancer or something else horrific and ugly, I remain outside of the spotlight and untouched by all the nastiness around me. I'm not saying, by ANY means, that I'm perfect, or an example for anyone else to follow, I'm just sharing what I've been doing that seems to have worked for me. Each of us need to find something in this manner that is taylored specifically to themselves and the special issues they deal with on a daily basis!!!! I just believe that I was lucky enough to find something like that when I was a bit younger and not yet deeply set into any patterns which were much more difficult to break free of!

I dont know if its actually meditation but I really get benifit from walking. The constant one foot in frount of the other. It helps my mind to wander and become calmer. I would recommend it to anyone just to try. I prefer some where with some nature but anywhere with a few trees and greenery is very good. If nothing else its physically good for you.

The first time I was ASKED to meditate I was in a completely "no" state. The person just went on with it without my reply so I just followed along kind of on the side as an observer. Meditation was NOTHING like what I thought it was. Knowing know how all things start in the mind, a mind I never took the time to get to know, I see the intrinsic value of meditation. For years now I have listened to music with no vocal to free up the constant barrage on my every thought. Its nice to allow my mind to run and play without judgment and even laugh out loud as I process.
