Every artist must step into the spotlight be an influencer with their art. The remaining 4 artists were treated to a shopping trip and a fancy meal before hearing their next challenge. They were each given a different form of "love" and had to capture that on the canvas. With an unexpected twist at the end, this is NOT an episode to miss!

I think the criticism is not always uplifting but rather breaking the artists down. The interpretation of a single concept or word is definitely a personal thing. Each one of these girls were emotionally invested in their painting. I was a bit disappointed in the way that the criticism was delivered.

I think Elli was just in a bad mood tbh.. and she brought the rest of the judges and the artists down. She's said many times too that she likes them to suffer in a way that challenges them. There's a fine line though when you're in a bad mood. I wouldn't like to do the Milan mastery program.

The judges are terrible. The mom judge is horrid. I’m so glad I’m not taking their course. Such negative people. Their critiques mean nothing. They force them to do what they want then complain about it. They are in this fabulous area and forced to be clumped together painting what the judges want. Send them out into the town. Let them come back with what they feel from the land where they are.

Well done, Tanya. That was one of my favourite paintings of yours! As an artist I learned a valuable lesson from Elli's feedback - that we must really reach down deep, and go beyond surface interpretations if we really want to be an outstanding artist. Garden variety art is great, it can speak to people, they enjoy having it in their homes, it sells, it has intrinsic value. But truly great art is what everyone looks at and knows is great - it is what people will be going to look at in art galleries and museums hundreds of years from now. We don't all have to paint like that. But there is an opportunity to strive to be transcendent in what we create from time to time in a way that inspires people and transforms the world around us.

Unfortunately as a Greek Agape has nothing to do with her painting. If anything it is the opposite! The whole crew is so mixed up and how after giving such positive feedback the husband coward down to his wife and all the wife does is talk over him! I don’t agree and the most spot on theme was captured by Katrina! All the girls got each others back! Phil’s friends etc….Gorgeous painting as well! She was in fact the only one that hit the nail on the head! Don’t just look at the painting as the theme had to be met! In my book Tanya failed and also should have gone home in episode 8. She failed that one for sure! If Michelangelo was judging I’m sure Katrina would be his choice!

@johnnicholson3314 I hear what you are saying, John, and as the show was playing I might have agreed with you. I was even a bit grumpy towards Elli when she first was sitting down with John and Dimitra and started being critical. However I really got Elli's point at the end, when talking directly to the participantd, that artists need to go BEYOND the obvious. Katrina, Jessi and Bri did paint the obvious, and did great jobs of doing so. Elli is doing them a favour by having them see that painting the obvious is what ORDINARY artists do, and to go beyond that level they have to be WAY more creative. An extraordinary artist truly INSPIRES and MOVES people emotionally with their work. While all of these paintings were "nice", I wasn't particularly "moved" by any of them except Tanya's. I don't think the instruction was to make a painting that shows what agape or Eros love, etc., "looks like" - it was to be their interpretation. It is a much higher level of art. And I learned much more, as an artist, than I would have if they had picked Katrina's painting, for example. I think there is more for us to gain by contemplating the outcome than by merely getting angry and judging it from our limited perspective. Unless, of course, we are exceptional and highly experienced artists ourselves.

@@janinafisher101 I had an opposite conclusion based on my experience and idea of what truly Art is. Yet listening to Elli is difficult because it’s as if her opinion sways John and her mini me Daughter who tends to mirror Mom. I believe the feedback is weak and Dimitra is too timid to push them harder! Your interpretation of what their instructions were is very different from mine. To add that the young Greek guy is not very clear what is most important in each challenge there by causing some confusion and or mood decline. I don’t use all the terms you do about the entire critique Elli had because from my perspective as an Outstanding Artist enthusiast, I believe there’s really only one judge and that’s Elli. This is what happens when reality shows becomes a strategy to be right rather than wrong because we are all invested in our opinions! But I respect your viewpoint and know that we all see things differently and experience life differently as well.
@janinafisher101

@johnnicholson3314 I agree that Elli's voice and opinion is overwhelmingly strong. Jake isn't Greek as far as I know. He is Dimitra's husband, and Marketing Director. This was filmed 2 years ago, and although it is definitely Elli's company, and her rules, I think Jake has grown and keeps growing, and will provide a bit of a foil to Elli's strong will. Still, he's in a tricky position, and Elli will always dominate, but I get the feeling she respects him. She goes by gut, he takes in outside information and processes it. Together they could be formidable, if Elli listens to Jake's input and they use knowledge and experience of both of them in equal measure. And you are right about reality shows such as these. Art is subjective, so it is opinion that rules. It doesn't necessarily lead to an opinion we agree with, but there will likely be many opinions!
@johnnicholson3314

@@janinafisher101 So now I get the full picture! Elli is the boss and everyone else is there to boost the show! The whole family are the producers but it’s the artists themselves who really do all the hard work 😓. It’s like these reality showdowns where it’s competition but it’s really not but there’s a prize at the end whether it’s a huge amount or not. These type of challenges are not for everyone’s talent base! Extreme heat where one’s health is affected will 100% affect the outcome. There is no such thing as Perfect but only if your brain tells your mind that is so. Therefore it comes to and always becomes a contention in all these contests the opinion of someone else! Why so? Because it’s easy to make people think a certain way by words another uses. Take for example the most drastic historic event WW II. One man who was told he wasn’t good at art became the world’s worst nightmare. Hitler’s words and stance and commitment to change the thoughts of others worked like a charm. If it’s all about opinion then maybe they need a few Master artists as judges. So who would that be? There are so many on earth that have taken over their form of art it would be hard to pick. So we are back to opinion! AGT has no Master judges who could do even 1 % of most of the physical difficulty they see yet it’s their opinion that finalizes who America votes for. This is why maybe it frustrates society more than elevates them watching these reality shows. Everyone in someway creates and can be called an Artist. If I paint something that in Elli’s eyes needs more detail or something she doesn’t feel is my best yet sells for $50,000, does that alone mean anything? So this idea to paint within a few hours a magical out of this world painting is simply these girls personal growth and if that’s accomplished then they may move forward and paint better then they did before. But the other side of Art is exposure and the business aspect of selling. Now that’s a different story and reality all these Artists will need to learn to sell their art. That’s really all Elli is looking for, marketable art. If you want to see Marketable and fine art within most of the challenges in this show take a look at Akiane who painted portraits as a child and takes months to finish some of her paintings. My dilemma here is do these challenges make this a race in time valuable or does it create a sense of hurry to get something done quickly? That’s not how Michelangelo created the statue David or did he? We really don’t know but we love what he finished don’t we?

I believe all criticism is beneficial if you don’t let it hurt you. Though this one was a little hard to watch. You can 1. Learn and be shown a new way that is helpful, and 2. You can also learn how to face it with courage and stand behind what you did. Both are beautiful. Proud of you women for advocating for your vision. I know you’ll tuck some of the words away and possibly let it help you see many paths for your next emotional work. But I’m proud of you for standing behind your work since you were proud of it. Never let a lesson bring you down ladies. Let it put a log on the fire. 🔥 ❤. Stand tall sisters.

I've enjoyed watching the artists create, but to be honest, it seems that the judges either limit how they are allowed to paint, encourage cookie cutter methods, or have such high expectations they can't possibly please the three. Art is subjective on both sides: the artist and the critic. Top that off with the fact that episodes are released erratically so your audience doesn't know if there's another one coming at all. I was hoping that this was the finale, but apparently there's at least one more. Might one inquire as to when that episode might be released?

I enjoyed reading through a lot of the comments. Let's face it, Elli is a formidable force, an that is why she is so inspiring, too. She is obviously the driving force of Milan Art. I notice a lot of subtle coaching going in the programmes, podcasts and videos. Let's face another thing - she is a straight shooter. She won't let anybody get away with blunders so that they can save face.

I loved this series honestly, reading the comments in the first couple episodes, there was a lot of criticism without much appreciation, but I genuinely think that this series inspires artists and for those who watched were entertained, people in the comments chose to nit pick at it, I do agree that bringing some male artists or even just other artists with different styles in would create more variety and make it more interesting but at the same time it would make the judges decisions so much harder

This was my absolute favorite collection! Paintings were warm, beautiful, (speaking for myself I'd for one LOVE to have the florescent "kiss" painting in my home), and above all, personal. But even though they were personal to the individuals, the images were...universal. Is that the word I'm looking for? Like, while they were meaningful to the artists themselves, I felt they spoke to the human experience. Think I would make the absolute worst judge on this show 😊 I only minored in art, and we didn't go deeply into critique, so I'm not well-versed as far as what does and doesn't work. I was so moved by the artwork in this episode. Outstanding paintings, ladies! Thank you for sharing your heartfelt stories, on screen and on canvas.

Your opinion matters regardless of education in Art. Many artists who are famous today didn’t have teachers or mentors yet their paintings are worth millions today! Van Gough is a prime example and Leonardo da Vinci vs Michelangelo both became Masters following separate paths. I have commented quite a bit that Art, like Beauty, is truly in the eye of the beholder yet I don’t know if Elli, Dimitra and especially John understand this concept.

The production of this season is really good, definitely getting better each season. However, I feel like the first 2 seasons being on Art Club were more a reality show FOR artists. This season being on KZbin I feel like there are way too many interviews and way too little of the art and the art process. Even some of the critiques and when Elli, Dimitra or John give advice mid way through a challenge - it seems so ambiguous as opposed to how they were in the first 2 seasons. Maybe that's just the editing. I hope if there is another season, they can find a better balance between the art, art process & the interviews. On the upside I do enjoy all of the artists on this season

Katrina in my Optionen got everything right and was outstanding as usual. I think she deserved to win. I think it pretty brutal from the judges how they judge - and for the reasons they judge. I admit, I know little about artistry, but I haven’t really agreed with their judgements so far. I think there have been some exceptional art done in this competition, but feel that only certain things matter, what the judges want, little from the artist themself what they are giving. sellability seems to be pretty top of the list 🤷🏼‍♀️. I would have liked to of seen some outward glowing on all of the paintings, a little more serenity, although Eros perhaps needed more passion somehow - but I think all four were fantastic! I think you judges, even as outstanding artists yourselves, none of you were so good as you are now today , instant top artists rarely comes instantly like you seem to expect. I think you forget this and perhaps expect too much immediatly🤷🏼‍♀️ - but as I said, I know little about artistry- but I know what I like, what I can see myself in the artists work, the story, idea, emotions etc. what one would buy, that’s relativ and a lot is personal choice for normal people - for others, with completely different reasons for buying - what is popular, what is safe to paint in hope to sell, what is popular at the time. I think artistry has more to say than that, sorry. It’s no wonder many great artists are so highly held, long after their deaths!

If you are Greek as I am the interpretation is in the eye of the beholder. The mom judge critic is exceptionally wrong! Katrinas painting is absolutely Outstanding and best all the others by far! Agape is simply just LOVE not interpreted at all by Tanya! Phlia is just that FRIENDSHIP we got your back! Katrina wins! Familia is nothing less nothing more and Bree interpreted her perspective with Elephants And Jesse Eros failed the erotic love so there you have a true opinion based on a real Greek interpretation the true meanings of each painting that each word is only a portion of Agape / Agape means love!! The other three are only branches from Love! The Tree needs its body to branch out its love with color, texture, smell, the types of leaves! This is what the judges miss! And it looks like the dudes wife is taking over his space trying to be right about everything! For Gods sake he totally coward down on his opinion. Tanya’s was the worst! I agree with Elli, I was super dissapointed too. none of these paintings looked on point. I feel Jessie did the best in this one,.

limited talent field (fantasy art), one note ideas, an uncomfortable enviroment, limited time scale, a half time weak critique, WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT. and they were shocked that none is producing a masterpiece.

Wow theres alot of blah blah blah criticisim for these artists that put themself in challenges one after another away from family and what they know.. and thinking that as an artist they have to paint in hot hot temperatures, in the sun, no shade, and what sounded like oh "they had better circumstances in the shade and near a bathroom"? what and why would you think that is going to made better art to put them in those situations.. its not like they are winning 1/4 mil dollars.. harsh conditions are only putting them in stressful headspace. :( shame on you.

What a beautiful video. I'm happy for all of them. They obviously enjoy their time together. I loved all paintings they did for this round!
