It gets better! For all of you out there hurting, please know as an older person who has been there and done that, it will get better. Your first love will always hold a special place in your heart. But you will move on and find real, reciprocated love. You’ll laugh and love again, I promise.

Thank you! You hit it dead on saying your first love will always hold a special place. I too am older and I know as you that everybody here will be all right. Everybody will feel pain, hurt, sadness, and also happiness. You'll feel all the emotions, but while you feel them, you are learning so in the future you don't repeat. My biggest advice for people is always look back on your relationships and write down the things you did good and also the things you did bad or didn't do. And then in the next relationship, those things you didn't do, do them. I've seen too many times that people have relationships and break up over and over again because they keep repeating the same thing over and over. Not only on relationships but on everything in life. At the end of every day, write down the things you didn't do that he wanted to, or the things you did but did wrong or said wrong. Use that the next day to say the right thing or do the right thing. We will only get better if we learn from our mistakes. Again, thank you for your comment. It helped me just hearing it.

The song honestly gives me chills. It makes me cry. Moving on from a long relationship and being with someone else. Someone that makes you just as happy as that person did, better even. And just hoping that person is happy... knowing they probably missed and waited on you hoping you would come back. Then seeing them again after all the time. I feel like she looked back because she was checking to make sure he was alright, because she was ok now. She moved on, and wanted the same for him. Maybe in a way still loved and cared for him, and his nod was a confirmation that he was fine too.

He may not write and sing everything from start to finish like other artists, but damn if he doesn't put his heart and soul into the songs he sings. You have to let go - not only of the person who’s causing you so much pain and heartache but also of your own expectations for your life, what you thought your life would and should look like ..... and with whom. It’s difficult to realize and accept that your own plan for your life is often not the same thing as God’s plan for your life. Lord, how many times in my lifetime have I cried out “God, I’ll do ANYthing if you’d just ...........” “let him come back again” or “not let this die” or “help fix my marriage” or “let him love me again” or “let us fall in love.” Just fill in that blank - I’ve probably said it all. But bargaining with God doesn’t make it happen and doesn’t really change the plan. And the whole process of letting go which leads up to that final, ultimate, painful acceptance is just so damned hard ..

About twenty years ago I was in love with this girl, we were so right for each other and we knew it, and everyone around us could tell as well. We laughed, cried, shared everything. Eventually a friend of hers told her I cheated, and I didn't. She believed him and we fell apart. My heart was (is) broken. She was everything! I tried to tell her then, and again after we weren't together, just so she'd know. I think she didn't want to believe it because it would hurt too bad knowing what we gave up....for nothing. When I heard this song by the time Lee started in I was crying. All I ever wanted was for her to be happy, even if that wasn't with me, and hopefully she is and is treated like a queen. I still love her and think about her twenty years later. Even in a song. I'll never stop. Love you Whitney~

It happens often and I’m sorry that happened to you. Friends of girls do this a lot out of jealousy and parents purposely break people up too. It’s like playing god with someone’s life. This happened to me too. Hope you find your queen she’s out there
@nikkimccay23564 жыл бұрын
Find her & tell how u feel man! It’s never too late until your dead
@Jimbo562864 жыл бұрын
I believe you man and you may have not cheated and in your heart you can’t let go of feeling in love for her because you didn’t get proper closure, you got a spit in the face that something you didn’t do. And she’s not the right one because she wouldn’t believe her friend if she wanted you as much as you wanted her. She has to want you as much as you do and obviously she doesn’t because she decided to believe her friend and left rather believe you, so in actuality, you shouldn’t feel any love for a person or girl who doesn’t want you as bad. But I understand your feeling but she isn’t the one. She’s naive and gullible to believe her friend right off the bat.

Too bad they don’t play it anymore. I hear Parker mccollums pretty heart more then I’ve heard this song. Don’t get me wrong, I love pretty heart but this song needs to be played more often. I’ve only heard it like twice then never heard it again in the radio. Then again I guess it’s good that they aren’t playing it multiple times or day after day. Pretty heart is good but when they play it over and over it gets old and loses its appeal. Same can be said for Miranda Lambert’s bluebird. Overplayed. But I still love the song and I’m a HUGE Miranda lambert fan.
