Loved this video! I think that just being alone with nature recharges us like nothing else . Even as a child , my grandparents lived on a farm, and I would just take off with the dogs and take a picnic and be gone for long periods of time. That is where I feel best. When I RV’d for 6 months I moved every 4 or 5 days and I was exhausted doing it all by myself. And I didn’t have a KZbin channel. I was emotionally exhausted from making so many travel decisions. Sadie loves hunting. Cool.

Anyway, it was a joy to see you so happy in the mystery forest. You were off the highway in the Seney Stretch. (Pronounced see-nee.) And anything spelled with nac at the end is pronounced NAW. As in Mackinac Bridge. MackiNAW. .

It is nobody's freakin business how clean or untidy your home is. Life is too short to worry about that. My mother had a sign that said "my house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy". I totally go by that mantra.

Seney Wild Life Refuge. Covers a large span of the UP. Great sandwich shop in Grand Marais - they do ice cream too. Munising at the other end of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is cute town. Great waterfall hikes! Enjoy. I miss Michigan!

I was a single mom, 4 kids and I never had free time. When I finally retired I could not adapt to having an open schedule. I lost a son, and was depressed, and it was not good. I found a PT job to fill some of my days. I had gone so many years ignoring taking care of home things (cleaning, laundry, repairs, etc) because I had no time. It has taken me three years to use the free days to start gaining control in my home and not just having a dumping ground! (Oh, that sounds bad, I am not a hoarder…). It is still a work in progress, but I am getting there. I am working on just being able to not do anything, and not feel guilty about it. Have a wonderful day!

This was prefect for you and your gal. I have dogs.....and they deserve some free time as well. They cannot be on leash all the time. I have a fenced in backyard......and that is not enough. They deserve some free time. When we find the "right place" with no others around......they get some time to "be free"............as long as they listen ;) ;) And come back appropriately. Carolyn, thanks for this video (as usual). Do enjoy seeing just the plain life of living on the road along w/the tips you give on the apps and such. One thing I think you are doing re: Sadie that if you looked at it through the responsible-ecological eyes you have and have helped others to have you might do differently. (I'm a professional animal behaviorist btw and this is not about any purported 'error' on your or her part -- in fact, she's doing exactly what her species should be-- and she's a joy. I too always have my dog off-lead and let her do her thing but she's still under my control in general.) Anyway, in some portions here we see Sadie ardently digging under/into, for instance, a dead/dying tree. She's 'hunting'/scented something she wants aggressively to get to. Something *lives* there. You are in *that* species home with a natural predator (canine) and that native species home and body is being threatened by a much-larger than it is creature that's trying to get at it. I'm pretty sure you would not want to harm the native creatures or their safe homes or scare them... that's not you. But that is what's happening. You are training her and you might want to just be aware when she's doing that and call her off. Hopefully you are offended that I'm offering this suggestion. Be well, safe and kind - to all.

Thank you Carolyn. Absolutely gorgeous there. Cannot imagine anybody being disappointed in finding that spot!! I've not been able to travel far or for that matter anywhere, here, for three months now, have been just in one area, due to Covid and prior to that was sorting out family things. My travel plans are very much up in the air now. Unsure of my nomad future, but hope that I can get back some semblance of the enjoyment that has been in my past travels. Stayed at or near one of my boys from Dec last year until this past May. Take care. Hugs for your awesome girl Sadie. She cheers us all up no matter what, for sure.
