When I was about 9 or 10, I discovered a cassette of "Occupation: Foole" sitting inside the old console stereo that sat lifeless in our living room. You know the ones, the major piece of furniture with the 20 lb mahogany lid and (probably) rotating leslie speaker? Anyhoo, I had just received the newest gadget of the day - a Sony Walkman(!) and was curious what was on this tape with the goofy cover. Man! My life changed that day. I am convinced to this very day that my dad left it there intentionally for me to find, though at the time I was deathly afraid of getting caught with it. I grew up in a small Mormon town in Utah, and I think he knew that some slightly subversive humor was just what I needed. In a very real way, George Carlin taught me to think, and he is forever a part of who I am. And as I just returned from driving my son to the store (dealing with the idiots and maniacs, respectively), this clip was inexplicably in my KZbin feed. As I sat watching, I came to a startling realization: did George teach me how to DRIVE, too?!

The older material still was critical, and against the grain. He is saying things that are still irreverent, but we are also missing bits from this special too! He was always criticizing the white, rich, middle and upper class and the pussified baby boomers. Read his books, and dig deeper. He was not that light when you really think about it.

Think you see where this is going. 😆We were out at a place that had consoles you could play like Sega, Playstation and Nintendo ( just setting up how old this is ) We had a few drinks and buddy didn't feel comfortable driving, I was like, hold my beer, I got this. As we left the parking lot I dumped the clutch, shifted and floored it driving my face straight into the steering wheel!

That outfit, the way he's moving around, I keep thinking it's Waluigi.
The only new car my parents ever bought was a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 6 cylinder, 3 speed on the column with no power brakes OR power steering! You could do 0-60 mph in 15 minutes! One of my co-workers let me use his car to go home during lunch, as I had an ulcer and was on a "special" diet. It was my first time driving a Buick Electra WITH power brakes and steering. When I braked to slow down, I almost went through the windshield. On the road, going around a curve, almost put me into a tree. Once I got used to it, I was so disgusted with mom's car!
