For information on booking a Salmon Charter from Fish Emeryville, visit their website at: www.fishemeryville.com
For this catch and cook we grilled the wild king salmon for five minutes on each side. Wrapped in parchment paper, then foil, all of the moisture was kept inside. The fish was seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and topped with a little bit of butter. This all happened after a full day of fishing from the Tiger Fish, part of the fleet of charter boats from Fish Emeryville. We had 17 anglers on the boat this day and although everyone did not catch a fish, everyone went home with at least one.

For everyone commenting on how bossy/loud the crew on the boat is......most fishing charter captains are pretty intense. Their livelihood depends on whether or not you catch fish. The more people fishing at one time, the louder and more in command they have to be. Most charter captains seem like they are yelling at you, but really they are just focusing and making sure you can hear their commands. Now, some are chill as hell, and that's cool too. But it's not something you should take personally (as clearly Fisherman's Life does not), they are just doing their jobs.

The kid you're fishing with(with the hat and strap on it) was a cool guy. He noticed a few hits before you, but kept strong to the; I get one, you get the next , mantra. You could tell he WANTED to take the pole, but he refrained and just pointed to the poles like an excited schoolgirl 😂😂. Dude is cool in my books👍🏻

Hows your finger going? Cool to see this, but dropping a lump of lead in the ocean each time you get a bite seems environmentally wrong. Maybe they could use cement or drilled rock weights instead. Love the boat dog, and they treat the fish really well.

very cool video..mouth watering too! But I can't believe the method of loosing your led weight every bite. I can't even imagine how many tons of led must be on the bottom there if this is a traditional method used by who knows how many thousand fishermen for years! What about downriggers?

dan lawrence : That was gross the way they gutted the fish and left them in water! First thing after gutting is to put them on ICE. Period. Sick to see those morons leave dead fish in a water tank. There is no way in heck I would eat fish that had been left in water for 12 hours. Disgusting.

Buddy... lead is an element taken straight from the earth. Just because you drop something on the ground, doesn't mean its littering.
@---Blue
@---Blue 6 жыл бұрын
Lead is an element yes, in fact it is a heavy metal which can cause heavy metal poisoning. Sure there's a layer of oxide and sure it won't dissolve in salt water but the more lead balls on the ocean floor means more chances of current scraping them against rocks and allowing lead particles to float around in the ocean and then later be passed through the food chain back to us. I reckon that they should use something other than lead that won't cause heavy metal poisoning, maybe concrete or something like that.

Unless you've lost a $200 fish that someone else brought in because you weren't quick enough with the net, you shouldn't complain about it. I'd be mad as hell with myself. It's bad enough they have to use barb less hooks that if the fish spins or gets some slack it's off. A hundred thing can screw up boating a $200 fish and the rules are against them with having to fish barb less hooks. A quick net is the only way it's getting boated.

Definitely most people overcook salmon. I think wild salmon is best seared rare, nearly raw in the center, to the point where it starts to firm up and cook but still has that smooth dark pink look. It's so heavenly when the fish is still clean and moist and has that mix of texture.

Matt another awesome video, once again you really bring me back to my days growing up in the bay and you make me miss fishing down there. I have caught salmon from California to Alaska and I must say that ocean salmon caught in June and July are some o the best eating salmon in the world, they are feeding on krill and anchovies and they are filled with fat. They are better than Alaskan sockeye and Columbia springers in my opinion. Keep expanding your horizons matt, hopefully we will meet on the water someday...greetings from Portland Oregon usa

Guaranteed it was the boat and seasickness and not the guys. He's a shore fisherman and probably doesn't do boats much to get used to it. Maybe not vomiting sick, but still not right.

Adam Raymond I used to work on a party boat years ago… I'm not sure how these guys do it but what we did was had little colored tags that we would put on the fish everybody was assigned a color and you just had your fish with your colored tag

That's what they make fucking down riggers for #retards Salmon charters here in Michigan would clown these fools. Absolutely trash. I have mated on many many boats, and the way he ran his boat was hot shit trash. The worst part of their charter wasn't even the lead, it was the damn dude netting the fish. this was pure garbage.

Hi, I just found you and am a new subscriber. I'm from Cali born and raised but now in Oregon. I remember going deep sea fishing in Cali once with my Dad as a kid. I remember realing in my first cast, got 2 cod and I got sick. I fed the fish the rest of the day, I was so seasick...lol I sat on the front of the boat and the waves hit me all day. I wouldn't move...lol When we finally got back to shore and off the boat, I kissed the ground...lol I like to fish, but don't care to eat it unless it's a white type fish like cod, snapper. Your videos are informative and entertaining as well as you being handsome. Good luck with your fishing and success. I look forward to watching more. Sandy Borbon
