@@FaithfulServant316 … I’m pretty sure he wasn’t saying that he was actually IN the Vietnam war. He was only sharing how the war had affected him personally. And I get it. It affected all of us in different ways. It was a huge part of my life. Our High School organized groups to write to the soldiers that were on the ground fighting. My best friend and I took it very seriously. We wrote dozens of letters and I even received a set of dog tags in one return letter. Thinking back, I can’t believe the whole situation. High School students writing to these young men in war. To this day those memories still haunt me. ( Just wanted to reply to your message. Thanks for letting me share). God Bless 🇺🇸

That depended on so many variables. The studio, scheduling, equipment..... even Ed Sullivan who prided himself on having live performances had to have a few groups lip sync. Many groups preferred to perform live but a lot of times, it simply wasn't possible. American Bandstand's studio through the 1960's wasn't equipped with multitrack recording. "Bandstand" was considered "just a kiddie show" and wasn't allowed a decent budget into the 70's.

The TV Show "Let's Go!" where The Guess Who was the house band had ALL of it's 2" Quad tapes wiped to be re-used. All that exists of Let's Go are some very poor quality B&W 16mm Kinescopes. Luckily though, one producer (who's name escapes me at the moment) had the wherewithal to retain some of the Guess Who's audio tapes that would be used on the show and the band would mime to them. Awesome live version of one of the best pop songs of all time. The arrangement is simple and to the point, just super. Burton is such a great singer and here is sporting his Morrison hairdo. Actually, he admired Jim Morrison greatly. Got to see Burton solo several years back in Newton, New Jersey at our county music venue. He was still outstanding.

He is the greatest, saw him in Vegas twice in the past few years and still amazing vocals,. when l saw him at the Orleans he was front and center with his piano. He was not surrounded by a band, or cheesy background singers or dancers. Just him with his piano and l loved him. A great talent.

I am BLOWN AWAY!!! I am typically a CRITIC of live performances because they rarely sound like the original, but I have a great ear and cannot really tell any difference from this live performance and the studio version. Steve Miller is the only other band I have seen live that sounds just like the studio. I am Impressed and LOVE The Guess Who and STAND TALL by Burton Cummings!
