Before and after flights we go into one of those single stall family restrooms and I let her out to use it and stretch her legs. She’s a very social outgoing kitty and loves adventures. Ok I have never gone on vacation with my cat but she is a frequent flyer. I went to college across the country and then got my cat as a kitten so she came home with me every break starting with my freshman year spring break. It was probably too much upheaval and she never really got used to it but now she only makes 1-2 trips to visit my parents per year. Shes always loved to fly. It’s very sweet how excited she is to look out the window when we take off and land and have her carrier on my lap as she happily sleeps and rests. When we deplane people are shocked to know she was on the flight because she’s so calm and quiet on the plane, she also has that weird saliva gene thing where she doesn’t produce the dander allergen so she’s technically hypoallergenic. She doesn’t like getting to the airport and we try to medicate her for that (she is smart and knows I’m putting drugs in her food if I don’t do it carefully enough) but once we’re past TSA she’s anxious and excited to get on the plane even unmedicated lol We also have taken her from the airport to an outdoor restaurant once or twice but we don’t do that anymore and go straight to my parents house to get her settled in.

I usually wait for the flight attendants to say something to me before I put her under the seat and it’s been about 50/50 since the rule change if they notice and tell me to put her under the seat for TO/L or if they don’t care enough/forget she’s even there because she’s so quiet on the plane.
