Just made this for lunch and can confirm it was delicious! I subbed some tenderstem broccoli for spinach and a little dashi powder for kombu. Similar flavours to oyakodon but with more veggies ❤

I love this dish - aside from Chicken I also tried it with both (marinated) Tofu and Beef as well and all three versions came out absolutely fantastic! Quick, easy and delicious - thank you for the video!

I like how he measured the oil. So many chefs say: just throw in a “little” oil, and then use a ton.

to be fair you don't really need to measure it if you know it's purpose

This looks excellent for meal prep! You can certainly freeze this as well, if you don't mind a slight change in texture.

Remember to not eat rice next day, it can only be eaten as is when cooked, otehrwise a lot of harmful bacateria grows. This is a great recipe, I do it same way often

I love the recipe great video and I’m picky. Also picky eater :-). I did check extra info. Impressive. I love info. I was only going to say I wish you had added something about tofu instead of meat. I know I know they can find it elsewhere. I don’t need it. I’d be cooking it for 30 years since my son was born unable to eat it. But now whole bunch of people are starting to be that way, they might die if they eat it. He definitely will and has been that way since birth. Anyway I don’t usually mention it to people, but I thought I would to you because I really do like your site. ❤🥳

Great channel! Just a question - why do you put kombu in many of your dishes?
@OpalPrinzessin
@OpalPrinzessin 12 күн бұрын
It adds a good flavor profile. If it's un accessible where you are, you can go without it, or sub with a bit of chicken broth to replace kombu + water.

Kombu contains glutamate which is super tasty or full of ‘umami’ if you will. They sell Kombu stock powder, which is a quick way to get the flavor.

It's a non stick pan from Japanese brand "MUJI" (無印良品)👍 I'm not sure if it's available in your country, but this brand is well known and trusted in Japan as affordable and reliable Household goods store😃

"30g spinach" I'll need to add a lot more than that, my eldest son is like Popeye, if we make spinach he will make sure there's no leftovers.
