I like making my cabbage into a quick kimchi but the microwave is a great tip. And soaking the chicken in water with some baking soda helps tenderize it in case you have a tendency to dry out chicken.

Are eggs in America fine for oyakadon or are they not as good/safe as Japanese eggs?
@MollyHJohnsАй бұрын
The 'manufacturing' process is vastly different so raw eggs consumption should be avoided in the US in my passerby opinion. I heard not only Japanese chickens and eggs are well bred and treated with meticulous care and given good diet that boost their immune system and taste, but also when the eggs are harvested, they disinfect them thoroughly before distribution. So there's almost zero risk of contracting salmonella by eating them raw, not to mention how delicious they are.
@huehoualee4730Ай бұрын
No, don't even attempt to use raw eggs from America. Cook it all the way through for safety (or half boiled or cooked), and it would be okay to consume (based on your preferences). I have never tried japanese eggs before, but I can tell that there is a big difference in quality between the eggs. Be safe lad 🫡
@CHEFSLABOАй бұрын
Sorry I'm not sure about the eggs in America😅 FYI, I'm in Australia, and I never had any issue in my (or my kids) body with cooking eggs slightly runny like this😃 But you know, as some of other viewers told us, it's the best to prioritise food safety if you feel uncomfortable cooking things in the way I showed😌 So just cook it until you feel it's safe enough👍
@lightonsnow1Ай бұрын

Why is the cabbage rice is lower in calories ?thanks for thé recipe
@CHEFSLABOАй бұрын
I have an other viewer who explained perfectly about your question😃 So I'll copy and paste his / her comment below for you. ↓ At 3:37 it says calorie compare for 280g in total. So 280g of (rice + cabbage) is lower in kcal to 280g of (only rice) - so hypothetically if you want to go even lower in calories just skip rice entirely and eat only cabbage with the chicken

@panda007Ай бұрын
Bowls used for sauces can be rinsed with water. Bowls with raw chicken need to be sanitized.
@CHEFSLABOАй бұрын
Sorry maybe I didn't explain well enough😅 It means that if you prepare raw chicken and everything in a steel bowl, and transfer it to a pan later, at the end of the day you need to wash the pan and the bowl. Well then just prep everything in a pan from the beginning, so you only need to wash the pan😃
