Classic stir fry you can't go wrong with. We're big fans of Gao Lan Ma as well... it's pretty much our go-to condiment! That's definitely a well-used carbon steel wok! Beautiful recipe! Looking forward to some congee!

Looks great! Love that you separated the whites from the green onion and added your soy and vinegar in the edges of the wok for deeper flavor. Also, never have thought to put vinegar in fried rice so I'm interested to try that out!One of these days I will get a powerful enough gas burner to use a wok! Great video.
@ThePotThickens2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I tend to like sour so use vinegar a lot.

You can use any kind and amount that you like. I do love this chili crisp. It is not overly spicy.

Amazing video! I just had to subscribe after watching a couple of your videos! A question, most videos about fried rice on yt are done with a gas stove. Unfortunately, I only have access to an electric one. Do you have any experience with those and if so, how would you adapt your recipe to it? Thanks a lot!
@ThePotThickens9 ай бұрын
Yes you can! Get a flat bottom wok or a large sauté pan and use high heat. It should work just fine.

Bravo! It looks amazing and easy to get right. The quick seitan is in my book, now time to add this one. I'm curious, do you watch Yeung Man Cooking videos? He often shows fried rice recipes, and teaches how to make chilli oil. I think you could try making your own chilli oil too.
@ThePotThickens2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes, I love Wil's channel. I think he shows his chili oil in every single recipe now! I do make my own chili oil too but I also like the flavors of some store bought ones. And I thought I would show this recipe using something most everyone can get their hands on.

Can you make a recipe using black garlic? Thx😊 (I mean any kind of recipe)

Do you prefer any type of rice for this dish? Tia.
@ThePotThickens Жыл бұрын
Many rices work well. I think a long grained rice would be good too, especially if used right away and not left over. I typically cook medium grained Korean rice and it is best after a couple days in the fridge to dry out and separate a little.

Uncle Roger really would. This guy is a true cook. It is really difficult to find someone as communicative, dedicated, delicate and who cares about details, technique and traditions as he does.
