I think the point of this story is that internet harassment and stalking like what Kiwifarms does can break a person, and that even those already messed up will still be made infinitely worse by it. Chris-chan's delusions read to me as a mixture of maladaptive coping mechanisms and a manifestation of their resentment, mental illness, and desperation. Like, the one throughline imo seems to be that his fantasies are a twisted chimera of intellectual properties that appeal to a child, stitched together with the kind of fanfic that only a lonely child with no friends and no significant education would come up with, and then fused with projections of their self-loathing, paranoia, resentment, loneliness, and likely some confused responses to puberty and not knowing how to deal with or process it. That and delusions of grandeur that center Chris-chan as valued and beloved and welcome and important in contrast to the real world where they're... anything but. And again, the kind of delusions of grandeur that only a dumb 5-year-old would come up with, aside from the warped perversions created by their very warped and disturbed life experience. In essence, a deeply disturbed, mentally incompetent manchild without the means of pulling himself together, poked and prodded and puppeteered by a jeering audience of sadistic internet stalkers treating them like an animal in the zoo and delighting in their continued mental degradation. It all just seems like a prolonged method of dissociation and avoiding coping with their increasingly miserable and hopeless reality, and the weight of their own sins that have built up while they coddled themself within their delusion. I bet if Kiwifarms and its predecessors had never existed, there could've been a timeline where Chris chan eventually ended up becoming relatively sane with the right support and guidance. Instead, (s)he's a testament to what happens when the worst in humanity sees someone they can collectively justify "punishing" by satisfying their absolute worst collective impulses upon. (S)he's a testament to the folly of mob rule - a hideous monster of our own making. At least, that's the impression I've gotten watching this shit from a far, far distance. Both Chris-chan and the internet's treatment of them have always deeply disturbed and disgusted me.

My POV on the 'misgendering discourse' about Chris Chan is whether or not they were faking being trans is irrelevant, and as you said, their gender identity is the least important part about them right now. It's better to not harm the trans community as a whole by normalizing misgendering. If someone ID's as female, and/or even legally changed their ID to do so, then we should refer to that person as such, out of basic decency towards trans people as a whole.
