I lived in Oakland for 6 years and this happened ALL the fucking time beyond pizza. Most bizarre thing. You’d try and support mom and pop shops but you’d go there on a Wednesday night or Sunday or Monday and it’d just be s’closed. No sign outside telling you why. No new hours posted. Just, s’closed!! You’d go back the next week at that same time and it’d be popping. S’infuriating! Next time, just go to the House of Chicken and Waffles-they’re the only reliable spot open late. Great city though.

To be slightly fair, when one pizza place runs out of dough for whatever reason, everyone tends to shift to the next pizza place, which could fuck them over as well. Coupled with the factors of going through a third-party food delivery service and being late in the queue, it's likely you wouldn't find out until later. It's also likely they wouldn't find out until later, as a place so swamped with business that it runs out of dough likely doesn't have the proper staff:labor ratio to be doing anything other than cranking pizza out.
